Easy DIY Sprinkler System Blow Out - Featuring Irrigreen The Lawngineer 2024-11-21 | This is an Easy DIY Sprinkler System Blow Out video featuring an Irrigreen system, but you can do this on any irrigation system. There is just one thing we need to discuss that is different for Irrigreen than all the others. Here are some quick steps:1) Shut off the water valve inside the home that feeds the sprinkler irrigation system2) Open the release valve with a flat head screwdriver to allow air inside the system3) Hook up your air compressor (60-80psi max) to the release valve and open the first Irrigreen head (or first zone) to allow air into the fist zone.4) Let the air push all or most of the water out of the sprinkler heads until only air is coming out. For Irrigreen, as soon as it stops misting, turn off the valve immediately to avoid damaging the head.5) Close the Irrigreen head (or valve) and open the head (or valve). 6) Repeat for each Irrigreen head (or zone) one at a time to push all of the remaining water out of the lines.7) Keep the 2 ball valves 1/4 to 1/2 open to allow any excess water to expand and escape if frozen.8) Open the release valves at the bottom of the lines to release any remaining water9) Optional: Cover the sprinkler system with insulation to prevent any freeze damageIf interested in an Irrigreen System, check them out here: irrigreen.sjv.io/jrbnmnYou can also check out our Irrigreen installation playlist here: youtube.com/playlist?list=PLn-7eoH8JKPAEIt6IAKWulxG7Ds28GzB0As always, drop a comment if you have any questions. I go over absolutely everything we spent money on to get Irrigreen in the ground, the cost of Irrigreen itself (what you buy direct from Irrigreen) is not the only cost. You also need to pay for pipe, potentially plumbing and electric, as well a rent some equipment if you want to avoid trenching by hand. I even break down the costs in terms of per SF and per foot of trench to help you budget for a system if you are thinking of installing one. Velocity PM targets Poa Trivialis and Poa Annua in cool season lawns. Finally, a selective herbicide is now available to the DIY community to control this weed and not kill the rest of the lawn. In this video, we are basically reading the label to you. I cannot stress it enough on how important it is to read and follow ALL of the instructions in order to achieve a successful outcome.
