The Trifecta - Turnip on Odin 2, muOS on SP, Lossless Scaling on GEEK 1S

RoeTaKa 2024-07-20 | I'm loving these three devices lately and these are three things that have improved these devices even more for me: Turnip R21 seems to have shown a noticable improvement in some Switch games on Yuzu for the Odin 2 Base, muOS is a great OS for the RG35XX SP that adds functionality and features that help make the device feel even more complete, and Lossless Scaling (which I covered in my last video) bumps Windows handheld performance with frame generation to make those harder to run games achieve smoother framerates -- whilst also potentially saving battery life.

(Note - either my audio cable or some interference caused a lot of noise on my mic and I had to use a decent amount of noise reduction to cancel it out, so apologies if the audio sounds lower quality).

Its a Clam Slam! RG35XXSP Review

RoeTaKa 2024-06-03 | The RG35XXSP is the newest model in the RG35XX series (yeah, there's more than one!). This one is a clam shell and heavily modelled after the GBA SP. Honestly it's a rather damn near perfect device for retro gaming, but these things always come down to preference and I can see some people being put off by the clicky buttons it has. If you push it to higher end systems you'll find issues and not all games on say the N64 and PSP will perform perfectly, but for the price you're getting a lot of bang for your buck here.

The PSP Go in 2024 Is Still Amazing

RoeTaKa 2024-02-22 | I bought a used PSP Go for about £80 in relatively good condition and I really liked it, so I made a video on it! I think if you're into small handhelds like the Miyoo Mini, you should keep an eye out for a good deal on one of these. I wanted to show the SD card mod but it's taking a while to arrive, and to be honest it doesn't demonstrate anything other than extra storage -- so I omitted that from the video.

The RG35XX Plus - A Solid Budget Handheld With Potential (Review)

RoeTaKa 2023-12-07 | So the RG35XX Plus is an upgraded model of the RG35XX, generally all around it has some small build differences but greater hardware inside to emulate games up to PSP. For a device going for $63.99 (for the model including a 64GB SD card) you do get a lot of power under the hood, but is it doing the most demanding consoles this device can emulate justice?

Odin 2 - OTA Update With RAM Fix & More

RoeTaKa 2023-12-03 | The promised OTA update is here to fix the performance problems that were a result of the Odin 2 not utilizing its hardware efficiently, particularly with the Base model. Here's the update notes:

Odin2 OTA V1.0.0.208:
1 - Enhanced Android system RAM utilization efficiency and updated LMKD algorithm.
2 - Added official support for virtual memory swapping (OFF|4GB).
3 - Fixed the issue where the dpad will change the backlight brightness in some emulator like Drastic/Play!.
4 - Reduced the default brightness of charging LED indicator and added the option to turn it off completely.
5 - Made audio volume curve perform more linearly corresponding to volume +/-.
6 - Fixed the WiFi issue where it doesn’t automatically show the login page on public WiFi.
7 - Added vibrator strength options: OFF|Low|Mid|High.
8 - Enhanced battery fuel gauge accuracy in ADSP module.

The guide is the method I used at the time, but I have written in text during a couple moments that you can copy your texture folders to your interal storage and manually move with with a file explorer. AYANEO GEEK 1S 1 Month Later - Cemu Gyro Controls & Bomb Rush Cyberfunk

RoeTaKa 2023-08-19 | I've had my GEEK 1S for a month now and have gotten comfortable playing and using a Windows handheld. With pretty much everything set up how I'd like (besides diving into frontends) I am really happy with the device and am just having a really good time with it. A Windows handheld won't be for everybody and people will have certain expectations for software, but for me and my purposes I'm very happy with this purchase.

The Odin 2 Will Be Powerful

AYASpace 2.0 Now Out In Beta (Tested on GEEK 1S)

RoeTaKa 2023-07-31 | Checking out the public beta for AYASpace 2.0 and mostly utilizing its SmartTDP feature which decides how much power to use whilst running your system and games. There are issues, fortunately I haven't come across many but if you're usually cautious about downloading software and hearing some people are having big problems with it then you may want to wait until this gets updated.

AYANEO GEEK 1S Review - A Powerful PC Handheld At A Great Price (If You Hurry)

(This is not sponsored, I backed this early on and bought it myself) Things I missed: The bottom of the box has the power plug, some different adaptors for it depending on where you live, the USB cable and some USB-C to USB adaptors. For external storage I'm using a 512gb card. The power button is also a finger print sensor, super nice. In the 2 hours of recording I did my battery went from 100% to 48%, I was rarely above 15W at 50% brightness and not constantly gaming so take from that what you will.

I finally have a PC handheld! The story goes that I reserved a Steam Deck within the first hour it went up for pre-order in 2021, then in June 2022 I was close to having one when AYN announced their own PC handheld called the Loki Max, and I cancelled the Deck for the smaller and spec-wise more powerful Loki with a Winter 2022 release. Cut to June 2023 and they're only just about to release the Loki Max, when AYA start their campaign for their more powerful 2S and GEEK 1S models. The GEEK 1S early bird price was the same as the discounted reserve I had for the Loki Max but with better specs and I knew I'd get it in July.

And arrive it did, this is my look at the GEEK 1S and I like it a lot! There are so many gaming possibilities and perhaps I'll do another video to test its power a little more, but for my use case I know I am going to enjoy a heck of a lot of games on this (if you pause you can pretty much see everything on the desktop I'm interested in).

To install Zelda 3 for the Vita you'll need to download the VPK and install it through Vita3K by going to file and install vpk and find the file where you placed in your storage. Then you'll need the dat file which contains all of Zelda 3's data, the installation guide tells you how to rip this data yourself (which is really hard) and the reddit link has a place you can download an already ripped dat file. This dat file needs to go in Android\data\org.vita3k.emulator\files\vita\ux0\data\zelda3\tables and that should be everything you need. In that zelda3 folder is a config file where you can change certain options by changing the values from 0 to 1 or whatever they ask you to set instead and then save that config.

I Bought A Nintendo DSi XL In 2023

RoeTaKa 2023-04-05 | I became interested in playing DS games on their native hardware in a nice resolution which didn't stretch or blur the pixels in a very noticable way, so I found a DSi XL and have modded it to play lots of games. I think this is something well worth purchasing even today and they're also still reasonably priced even used.
