Upgrading To 9800X3D From Non-X3D CPU Can Provide MASSIVE Performance Boost | Tested In 9 Games

Compusemble 2024-11-11 | Testing the 9800X3D in 9 games and comparing it to the 7700X, which is the CPU previously used to benchmark games on this channel.

Testing is done at 720p/1080p and max settings in order to stress the CPU as much as possible. Many settings are demanding on the CPU as well (including ray tracing.) Nevertheless, it appears that even at 1080p, the 4090 is bottlenecking the 9800X3D in a few of the games tested. As such, the 720p results are more indicative of what the 9800X3D is truly capable of. The 5090 should allow the 9800X3D to reach more of its potential.

The Ultra Preset does not max out the ray tracing settings by default. Throughout the video, when the Ultra Preset is used, I have manually turned all ray tracing settings to their maximum values. The RTX Direct Lighting setting is separate from all other ray tracing settings, and it is very demanding. It is not always enabled in the video, but whenever it is, it will be labeled as such.

Work Graphs API: First Look At Performance Of DirectX 12s Latest Feature

Compusemble 2024-03-12 | A first look at Work Graphs API performance. The performance most of the time is very similar, although it depends on the scenario. At around 1:20 of the video, you can see that Work Graphs starts to provide a massive boost to performance.

As NVIDIA states in the blog below, this feature is still fairly new, so the performance increase, on average, will not be a big leap. This version of work graphs is limited to compute shaders only.

Testing NVIDIA PhysX On Modern Hardware In The Batman Arkham Series In 2024

Compusemble 2024-02-23 | GPU accelerated Physx is no longer used today, but several games that came out around a decade ago made use of this feature on NVIDIA GPUs. The Batman Arkham series all supported this feature, and that is what is being tested today across a variety of Physx settings.

In Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, the Physx High setting is used on both CPU and GPU. In Arkham Origins, the Physx setting defaults to Normal when running Physx on the CPU, so you miss out on some effects. Arkham Knight does not support Physx on the CPU.

MSI GeForce RTX 4090 SUPRIM X Tested In 10 Games Using The GPUs Ultra Quiet Silent BIOS

Compusemble 2023-11-20 | The MSI GeForce RTX 4090 SUPRIM X is the quietest 4090 according to TechPowerUp's tests, coming in at just 28.6 dBA in the Silent BIOS mode. It is an extremely efficient and superbly engineered GPU. This is a test of the GPU in 10 games using the card's Silent BIOS.

If you are in the market for a 4090 this Black Friday or holiday season, I highly recommend the SUPRIM X.

The settings used here are settings that most people are likely to use in a given game for a good balance between visuals and performance. For example, in games like Alan Wake 2 and Cyberpunk, 4090 owners are likely to want to play these games with the latest cutting edge features like path tracing. As such, DLSS balanced/performance modes + frame gen are highly recommended. In games like F1 23 or R&C, you can maintain a high frame rate even with DLSS quality mode. Then there are games like Forza Motorsport, where the DLSS implementation isn't very good right now and the performance increase is minimal.
