How to Make a Lined Pouch with a Zipper and Ruffle Carrie Me Away 2025-03-27 | Don’t be scared of zippers. Or ruffles. I know that there are lots of tutorials out there on making pouches. Once I made one of these, I knew I had to make my own tutorial. The ruffle is optional and you can make this pouch in any size. Cut 2 pieces for the outside. Mine is 9 1/2” x 7 1/2”Cut 2 pieces for the lining. Same size as the outside. For the ruffle, cut a strip 3” wide times twice the length of the sides and bottom of the pouch. If you want to add the D ring, cut a piece of fabric 4 times the width of the D ring and 2” long. I sew on a Janome Memory Craft 9450 QCP. Anthropologie Butterfly Sweatshirt Upcycle Carrie Me Away 2025-01-05 | Have a plain sweatshirt or t shirt you want to sprice up? I fell in love with the Maeve Butterfly Graphic Sweatshirt from Anthropologie but couldn’t stomach the $98 price tag. So I made my own! A thrifted swestshirt and some butterfly fabric, and I love the way it turned out. You can also do this with no sewing. The fabric I used was from Joann. Upcycled Glassware into a Beautiful Tree Carrie Me Away 2024-12-08 | I saw this beautiful glass tree from @therurallegend on my Instagram feed and simply had to make one. I see so many glass dish pieces at estate sales and thrift stores and this is a perfect way to use them. I used lighter weight glass pieces in graduating sizes and combined bowls and plates. My Estate Sale Haul Carrie Me Away 2024-11-17 | I try to hit up estate sales at least one weekend a month. I check out estatesales.net to find the ones in my area and then look at the photos to see if anything sparks my interest. I find that I have the best luck at sales in older homes in the suburbs. And I don’t find something at every sale either. I also like going on the weekend as most estate sales (at least in my area) go 50% off on Saturday and 75% off on Sunday. Haven’t tried it yet? I’m a firm believer that you can find a pattern for just about any piece of clothing you see in stores. They can be totally customized to your style and decor. For the oranges: cut into 1/4” slices and lay them on parchment paper on a cookie sheet. Put them into a 200 degree F oven for 4-6 hours. Flip the slices and rotate the tray every hour to hour and a half.
Super Easy DIY Ornaments with Nail Polish and Garland Carrie Me Away 2023-12-12 | Here are 2 easy ornaments you can DIY with stuff you probably already have on hand. Some notes on the dipped nail polish ornaments:Use a bucket or tub that you don’t mind messing up. Use room temperature water. The water needs to be a couple inches deeper than the size of the ornament. Wear gloves and have nail polish remover in case of mistakes. So easy to make and very addictive.
