I know that there are lots of tutorials out there on making pouches. Once I made one of these, I knew I had to make my own tutorial. The ruffle is optional and you can make this pouch in any size. Cut 2 pieces for the outside. Mine is 9 1/2” x 7 1/2” Cut 2 pieces for the lining. Same size as the outside. For the ruffle, cut a strip 3” wide times twice the length of the sides and bottom of the pouch. If you want to add the D ring, cut a piece of fabric 4 times the width of the D ring and 2” long. A thrifted swestshirt and some butterfly fabric, and I love the way it turned out. You can also do this with no sewing. The fabric I used was from Joann. I see so many glass dish pieces at estate sales and thrift stores and this is a perfect way to use them. I used lighter weight glass pieces in graduating sizes and combined bowls and plates. I check out estatesales.net to find the ones in my area and then look at the photos to see if anything sparks my interest. I find that I have the best luck at sales in older homes in the suburbs. And I don’t find something at every sale either. I also like going on the weekend as most estate sales (at least in my area) go 50% off on Saturday and 75% off on Sunday. Haven’t tried it yet?
