Let's test out the INNOCN 15.6" OLED portable monitor. I’m always on the lookout for a good display to pair with emulators and retro games, and this little OLED is interesting for that. It's OLED, so we know the colors are good, blacks are deep... that plus the gray to gray and this makes the old games feel a lot better when compared to an IPS or something.

It'll also be good for watching movies on the go. However, there's a catch... At the time of making this video, it's $319. That might be a lot for a 15.6" screen. Let's see if it's worth the loot.

I'll be putting it through its paces, testing the ghosting, and playing some games to figure out if it’s good enough to justify that price. Is it practical for travel? And how does it compare to other options in this price range? Check out the video or I'll grab your ears and jump off the balcony.

I've been testing these two mini PCs—the M7 with a Ryzen 7 and the M7 Pro with a Ryzen 9—to see if the jump to the Ryzen 9 is really worth it. I’ve run them through all the usual benchmarks like Cinebench, Geekbench, and Superposition, plus I’ve thrown in some demanding games like Cyberpunk 2077, Baldur’s Gate 3, and even Frostpunk 2. The idea is to find out if the Ryzen 9 actually gives a noticeable boost over the Ryzen 7, or if it’s more of a marginal improvement when it comes to real-world performance.

Looking at these specs, the Ryzen 9 PRO 6950H in the M7 Pro runs up to 4.90GHz, while the Ryzen 7 PRO 6850H in the standard M7 is slightly slower at 4.70GHz. Both have the same Radeon 680M integrated graphics, so the performance difference mostly comes down to the extra frequency or maybe the ram speed.

They also share a lot of features: DDR5 memory (up to 32GB), 1TB NVMe SSD storage, USB 4 support, and Wi-Fi 6E. The only real difference on paper is that higher clock speed with the Ryzen 9, but the question is whether that translates to better performance in everyday use or gaming.

The Obsbot Tiny 2 has forced my hand... I've switched to this tiny (fancy) webcam and ditched my large Panasonic GH4 micro 4/3 SLR camera. This also does a lot more than the big SLR did. It can swivel and pivot, meaning it can follow me around. Beyond that, there are post-processing effects that are really handy. I don't have to color correct in post anymore!

It's crazy that you can get a 180Hz IPS monitor that performs this well for under $100. I'm mostly impressed with the ghosting performance. It rivals the little OLED screen I recently tested.

#microsoft has decided that it's a good idea to label legit programs as malware/viruses. This is a massive security issue for many reasons. I'll cover them all in the video.

So, what happened? Microsoft has added ExplorerPatcher to windows defender definition list... so defender will block it. Not only that, but many other anti-virus and anti-malware programs will block it as well just because MS has blocked it. This forces us to add the program to our safe list... which is VERY dangerous. What if an update introduces a real threat?

Does Windows 11 still suck? Well, let's give it a test drive. In this video, I'll cover all the new features (that I know about and/or that are worth talking about) and I'll see if I can break it in nice ways... meaning I'll see if I can install ExplorerPatcher, Open-Shell, RetroBar, and a few other things.

I'll be honest and say that things are a lot better. It's still in the wrong direction for many of us... and the interface is still kinda insane... and you still can't move the taskbar to the side or the top... but we can work around most of these things with a few hacks. The file explorer is a lot better this time around. We can finally drag and drop to the breadcrumbs, which is a huge deal for me... and you can now zip things up using several formats (tar, zip, etc.) right on the right-click context menu. These options aren't on the old right-click menu, so that's annoying. However, this is kinda going in the right direction.

You have no idea how much you need something until you unfold it and realize how big of a deal it is. This is a dual screen laptop that folds down to be almost as thin as any other ultrabook-sized laptop. Just watch the video.

I also find it interesting taht they use an older i7 CPU. That should keep the cost a bit lower while providing almost the same speed as the newer cores. The GPU isn't as fancy, but that might not be such a bad thing. I do not think this will be sold as a gaming monitor... but now I do want a triple screen laptop with a GPU (and I want someone else to lug it around for me).

I mean, I know nobody is reading this which is why I'm going to start talking about rotten bananas again. Nobody can stop me. Oh, also, Microsoft is greedy and doesn't care about the customers. This is the biggest difference... greeeed dictates the direction of the OS while user experience takes a back seat. While over in Linux world, we have 10000 different versions all doing different things... and, when you look at most of these distros, you'll realize... these nerds hate money!

I talked about why I can't use Linux on my main PC... but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't. I'm weird and do loads of things that most people do not do (music creation, etc.). Most people will actually be just fine on Linux.

Linux has gotten so much better, and it's only going to keep going in this direction. So, is it time to switch? Probably. I'm kinda a newb, but I'm going to try to keep this extremely newb-friendly. I think anyone who can install Windows, set up steam, install some games, install Discord, and use their PC can do all that just as well on Linux. We can argue about distros another time. I really like this ZimaBlade X86 Single Board Server. It's a ton of fun and extremely useful. I has a quadcore (one of 4), ram slot, gigabit port, DisplayPort, and PCIe 4x port.

So, since it's x86 and has a RAM slot, the sky is the limit. It comes with CasaOS, which I think is good for most. It's an OS that makes installing docker containers trivally easy. I installed Jellyfin with a few clicks.

In this video, I'm testing the entire ZimaBlade 7700 NAS Kit. You get 16GB of RAM, A dual SSD cable adapter, and a little dual hard disk rack (oh, and a USB C power supply).

One note, DO NOT use this USB C power supply with anything else... It's usually safe... but I fried some stuff trying.

I've been using a Synology DS918+ since it came out. I loved it, but it was time for an upgrade. The biggest difference here is that we can install a 10 GbE ethernet adapter, two M.2 NVMe SSDs. and plenty of ram. The DS923+ allows you to create storage pools with your M.2 NVMe... so combine that with the 10 GbE (also runs at 2.5 if that's what you have) and you can edit 4k videos right from the nas.

Windows works well... IF you disable all the nonsense. Microsoft has turned #Windows into spyware, but we can disable most of it. I'll teach you how to disable your advertising ID, telemetry, data collection, web search in your start menu, cortana, and a bunch of other stuff. We will learn how to do this multiple ways, so if one of the ways fails to work after a future update, the others might.

So, let's lock down Windows 11. I'm using the latest Windows 11 24H2 build that is still in beta, that way it will be somewhat future-proof. This also works with Windows 10.

RetroBar is a Windows taskbar replacement that works on Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, and Windows 11. It works like the old taskbars on Vista (it was optional on 7) going all the way back to Windows 98 (or maybe 95).

The key difference here is the placement of the QuickLaunch area. It's on the left, then the tabs are on the taskbar to the right. See the video for a full demonstration.

I didn't realize how much I missed this layout. I currently use RetroBar on Windows and I use Plasma 6 on Fedora with a layout that is basically the same. It's awesome. Let me know what you think.

Hostinger contacted me about doing a tutorial... so I decided to look at their VPS options. I have used them many times in the past, but that was usually on their cloud hosting plans. The VPS prices are amazing for what you get. So, I decided to test it out.... after-which, I agreed to make the video.

You get AMD Epyc CPUs, NVME, and more ram the most of the competition (comparing prices). The servers were snappy too. The real thing that impressed me was just how easy it all is. I love that your ip address stays the same even if you change your OS. That makes DNS management easy. Also, the one-click application installs are very convenient. I tried several before deciding to focus on Cloudpanel and Cyberpanel.

Why these two panels? Well, many people are afraid of VPS servers... they are worried that they won't know what to do... and they feel like they need cloud hosting. You get more for your money with VPS, but you generally need to know the command line... and Linux can be intimidating. Well, this isn't difficult at all.

I was able to set up both Cloudpanel and Cyberpanel with just a few clicks. I didn't need to open the Linux terminal at all. Plus, if you get lost or want to go beyond the regular installation, there's an ai assistant that can help you with the Linux command line.

Check out the video. The goal is to convince you that VPS can be extremely easy. It's faster, more secure, and you can finally move away from c-panel without missing out on any major features.

For many, #linux meets their needs... but this isn't true for everyone. There are some programs that have no replacements. Creative types especially have this problem... Linux does many things, but audio is not one of them. There are several other reasons that keep people tied to platforms like #windows10, #windows11 and #MacOS.

#linuxgaming has also come a long way, but modding support isn't fully there yet. This may or may not matter.

Acemagic, please stop using the ENDEV.exe file. Even if there is no trojan, there has been in the past and I can't recommend or endorse a system with this file present. This file is larger than the previous ones that contained the virus... I scanned and scanned and couldn't find anything, but I still do not want to see ENDEV.exe on the PC. What is it? Well, it's supposedly there to force Windows to bypass the online setup, therefore allowing you to use an offline account during initial setup. This is cool, but I am having a hard time trusting this file.

I don't want to take any chances, so I completely wiped the drive and re-installed Windows 11 before completing the tests. I would recommend doing this on most computers now days. I just do not trust anything.

I think I keep saying 8745... My brain is bent because I keep switching the 7840 to become the 8740. The model is 8845! OK, now that that's covered... let's talk about this Mini PC. It's interesting to finally get to test the 8845HS CPU. It's VERY similar to the 7840HS, so check the benchmarks for that.

It scores slightly better than most of the 7840HS PCs and has a few extras, so is it worth it to buy the 8845HS? Well, maybe... and I'll cover all that in the video.

Microsoft has removed the easiest way to use an offline account. This will be enough to force most users to just comply... and set up an always online Microsoft account. This is the future. They do not want you to be able to use a PC without a permanent tether to their cloud. They want to feed you ads and harvest your data. It's a bit bleak.

However, we can still use an offline mode using a couple different methods. Check out the video.

For the advanced method, here are the instructions:

Press Shift+F10 (some laptops require you to press Function(FN)+Shift+F10)
Then type this into the command prompt: oobe\bypassnro
