This is a project for if you've made a few beginner projects, now you want to try the next step up. The most challenging part is the closure placket, which can be avoided it you cut the circle in panels and add the closure in a seam.Also, I said that I "sewed most of it by hand". That wasn't exactly accurate and wasn't what I meant to convey. What I learned from taking my American Duchess shoes to a repair shop Mariah Pattie 2022-03-26 | When the soles of my Renoir boots were damaged, I wondered if maybe they weren't as well-made as I thought. But I realized that no shoes last forever. Modern shoes made from synthetic materials are almost pointless to try and repair. But historical shoes were made from sturdy leather and could be completely re-soled if needed. With historical reproduction shoes, I feel we have the best of both worlds. It's extremely simple, just cut into one huge circle with a placket and a waistband, closing with hooks and eyes. She fixed up the rips and that was all! All about custom printed fabric: how to design, where to order, and using it to build a business Mariah Pattie 2021-04-17 | My experience with custom fabric printing, or on-demand fabric printing, and an honest review of Spoonflower, My Fabric Designs, and the other companies I've used. I made this video because I want people to learn more about fabric printing, and some of the possibilities, but also some of the pitfalls and downsides to be aware of. It's not a perfect science, and anyone who's interested should experiment to decide for themselves if fabric printing will work for their style of art and sewing.This was a difficult video to make, from a technical standpoint. I needed and wanted to talk about my Etsy business, but I don't want to promote it specifically. So I didn't share any of the fabric or designs that I've ever sold in it. I can't describe how much I want to get away from Etsy, as a company. But also, I don't consider the art and sewing I've done for Etsy to be particularly creative. I only designed fabric and made items that I knew would sell, following niche trends and popularity, and I'm bored with it. It's just not been creatively fulfilling as a career.
