There is a tremendous difference between being corrected and being accused.

In Sermon 4 of our verse-by-verse study through the Book of Job, Job responds to Eliphaz and makes one of the most reasonable requests found anywhere in their debate:

JOB 6:24
24 Teach me, and I will hold my tongue: and cause me to understand wherein I have erred.

In other words: “Show me where I am wrong.”

Eliphaz believes Job’s terrible suffering must prove that Job has committed some hidden wickedness. The problem is that Eliphaz has no evidence. He has experience. He has assumptions. He has arguments. He has conclusions. What he does not have is proof.

Job is willing to be corrected. He simply demands that his friends show him his error.

In Job 6–7, we see a broken man dealing with unimaginable grief, physical suffering, failed friendships, sleepless nights, despair, questions about God, and accusations from men who do not understand what is actually happening.

This message examines:

• Why suffering must be considered before judging the words of a hurting person
• How Job’s friends failed him when he needed them most
• The difference between biblical correction and baseless accusation
• Why being confident does not mean being correct
• The power of Job’s challenge: “Teach me”
• Why right words are forcible
• How suffering can limit our perspective
• Why Job continued speaking to God even when he could not understand God
• Why admitting that you are a sinner does not mean accepting a false accusation
• Why every Bible believer should be willing to say, “Show me where I am wrong.”

The standard is not our feelings. It is not our experiences. It is not tradition. It is not what we have always believed.

The standard is the Word of God.

If I am wrong, show me.

If I have erred, teach me.

If what I believe cannot stand against the Book, I need to change what I believe.

They all expected to enter.

They all had lamps.

They all waited for the bridegroom.

They all looked prepared.

Yet when the bridegroom came, only five went in.

Then came five terrifying words:

“AND THE DOOR WAS SHUT.”

Preached at the 2026 Faith in His Blood Revival in Sweetwater, Tennessee, this message from Matthew 25:1-13 examines the parable of the ten virgins and delivers a serious warning to anyone trusting religious appearance instead of personally believing the gospel.

The five foolish virgins were not atheists mocking the things of God. They expected to enter. They were associated with those who were prepared. They carried lamps. They waited for the bridegroom. From the outside, they looked ready.

Yet when the decisive moment came, they discovered they were not prepared.

There are people today who attend church, carry a Bible, know Christian terminology, have been baptized, walked an aisle, repeated a prayer, joined a church, or remember an emotional religious experience. They fully expect to go to Heaven.

The question is not whether you LOOK saved.

The question is not whether you once made a profession.

The question is not whether your parents are Christians.

The question is not whether you were baptized.

The question is not whether you prayed a prayer.

The question is:

WHAT ARE YOU TRUSTING RIGHT NOW?

Your family cannot believe for you.

Your preacher cannot believe for you.

Your church cannot save you.

Your baptism cannot wash away your sins.

Your good works cannot justify you.

Your religious experience cannot substitute for faith.

Salvation rests completely upon the finished work of Jesus Christ.

1 CORINTHIANS 15:3-4
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Jesus Christ shed His blood and died for our sins. He was buried. He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.

Salvation is not earned. It is received by faith.

EPHESIANS 2:8-9
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

This sermon also carefully recognizes the dispensational context of Matthew 25. The passage concerns Israel, the coming of the Son of man, and the kingdom. It is NOT teaching that a saved member of the Body of Christ can lose eternal life.

The saved believer today is secure in Jesus Christ.

Yet there is a powerful warning here for every lost religious person:

Do not mistake EXPECTATION for PREPARATION.

Do not mistake RELIGION for SALVATION.

Do not mistake a PROFESSION for FAITH.

Do not wait until the door is shut to discover that you were trusting the wrong thing.

ROMANS 4:5
5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Stop trusting what YOU have done.

Trust what CHRIST has finished.

Believe the gospel personally.

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.

The door is open now.

There is no promise that it will remain open tomorrow.

A Man Can Be ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN and ABSOLUTELY WRONG | Job 4–5

MISSION 1611 with Dr. Robert Potthoff 2026-08-31 | Eliphaz was confident. He sounded spiritual. He spoke about God. He stated things that were true.

He was also completely wrong about Job.

In Job 4–5, Eliphaz makes one of the most dangerous mistakes a religious person can make: he takes what he has seen, what he has experienced, and what he thinks he knows, then speaks as though God has confirmed his conclusion.

“I have seen.”

“I heard a voice.”

“We have searched it, so it is.”

There was only one problem. God never told Eliphaz that Job was suffering because of hidden sin.

This message exposes the danger of allowing personal experience, feelings, dreams, visions, traditions, assumptions, and even correctly stated biblical principles to become authorities over what God has actually revealed.

A person can quote truth and apply it wrongly.

A person can have an incredible spiritual experience and interpret it wrongly.

A preacher can sound completely confident and still be wrong.

Experience must be judged by the Book. The Book must never be judged by experience.

This truth becomes even more important when it comes to salvation. Your feelings cannot save you. Your religious experience cannot save you. Water baptism cannot save you. Reformation cannot save you. Your works cannot save you.

Jesus Christ saves.

1 CORINTHIANS 15:3-4

Job Part 2 The Cry of a Broken Man

MISSION 1611 with Dr. Robert Potthoff 2026-08-24 | What happens when a faithful man becomes completely broken?

Job 1 and 2 show us what happened to Job. Job 3 reveals what happened inside him.

After losing his possessions, servants, children, health, comfort, and peace, Job finally breaks seven days of silence. He wishes he had never been born, questions why his life was preserved, longs for rest, and speaks openly about his fear and suffering.

Yet Job never curses God.

Satan wanted Job’s grief to become rebellion—but it did not. Job cursed the day of his birth, not the God who gave him life. His anguish reminds us that deep faith does not make someone incapable of deep grief. A believer can hurt, cry, feel overwhelmed, and ask “Why?” without abandoning God.

In Sermon 2 of the “How Great Thou Art” series, we examine Job 3 and consider:

• The honest cry of a broken man
• Why pain is not necessarily evidence of unbelief
• Job’s longing for death and rest
• The limits of wealth, power, and human understanding
• Why fear cannot control tomorrow

Job longs for rest. The gospel offers peace with God.

Job speaks about death. The gospel announces resurrection.

Job cannot see the way. Jesus Christ declares, “I am the way.”

Job’s chapter ends in trouble, but his story is not finished—and neither is yours.

Your Southern Baptist Church Might Be Leading You to Hell, Part 1

Many Southern Baptist pastors teach that a person must “repent of their sins” to be saved. But is turning from sin actually part of the gospel—or does this teaching quietly replace faith alone with human effort?

In this video, we examine the first of several ways the Southern Baptist Convention promotes what I believe is a false gospel. We compare the phrase “repent of your sins” with the clear biblical message of salvation: eternal life is received by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. Salvation is the free gift of God—not a reward for reforming your life, promising to change, or successfully turning away from sin.

MISSION 1611 with Dr. Robert Potthoff 2026-08-20 | This message is specifically for people who attend Southern Baptist churches.

I am not saying that every Southern Baptist is lost. There are saved pastors, deacons, teachers, missionaries, and church members in Southern Baptist churches. My concern is that millions of people have gone to Hell believing a false gospel while sitting in Baptist churches, and the problem has become deeply embedded within the Southern Baptist Convention.

The Baptist Faith and Message 2000 contains a false gospel in its section on salvation. I know that beyond the shadow of any doubt, and I am willing to show exactly where the problem is from the Bible.

This video is not primarily an invitation to argue in the comments. It is an invitation to have a conversation.

If you are Southern Baptist, especially if you disagree with what I am saying, reach out to me. Pastor, deacon, Sunday school teacher, youth pastor, seminary student, missionary, or church member, I am willing to sit down one-on-one, open a King James Bible, and discuss exactly what you believe about salvation.

You do not have to agree with me before the conversation begins. Just be willing to have it.

If I am wrong, show me from the Bible.

If what I am saying is true, then souls and eternity are far too important for us to ignore it.

To the saved men and women still standing for the true Gospel inside Southern Baptist churches: keep up the good fight. Those people are worth fighting for.

What happens to a man's faith when everything around him falls apart?

Job begins as the greatest man in the east. He has a family, possessions, influence, health, and most importantly, a testimony before God. Before Job 1 and 2 are finished, nearly everything is taken away.

Behind the scenes, Satan makes a serious accusation:

**JOB 1:9**
**9 Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?**

Satan's accusation is that Job does not really love God. He only loves what God has given him.

The Test of a Just Man asks the question: Is God still worthy when the blessings disappear?

Job answers from the ashes:

**JOB 1:21**
**21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.**

In this message from the **How Great Thou Art** series, we examine Job 1 and 2 and see:

• Why faithful men can suffer
