Haha, all jokes aside; I recently discovered a band called 'Nothing But Thieves' and I've been listening to their debut album non-stop for weeks. The album is full of really good songs (I can't believe I didn't discover it earlier) but the song that stuck out the most to me was 'Lover Please Stay'. There was something about the simplicity of the song, the rawness and emotion of the vocals that just really stuck with me. Take a Break April Slumbers 2019-03-26 | Hello lovely people of the internet ✧I wanted to do something a little bit different for this video. At first I wanted to write a poem to add on top of the footage. However, when I was editing everything, I ended up liking the version without the poem a lot better. That's why I decided to change things up a bit and just experiment with a different style of video making. It was fun to not plan things out for a change and just film whatever.I filmed this when I stayed over at a friend's house while I was in a bad head space. They gave me everything I needed to start my day on my own time, without having to stress about anything. I had some time to take things easy for a bit and it made me realize how busy and stressed I had really been.Sometimes, you have to slow down a bit to realize how fast you're actually going. Sometimes, you have to enjoy the little things around you. Sometimes you just have to admit that things aren't fine, and allow yourself to take a break every once in a while. It's far from the best cover I made, but my goal for this video was focused more on the visuals rather than the vocals; I got myself a new camera (as you may have noticed from last weeks video haha) so I tried experimenting a little with the settings. [English Cover] Instagram - DΞΔN || April Slumbers April Slumbers 2018-05-14 | I recorded the audio and video for this song months ago, but I never really got around to editing it all. UNTIL TODAY. Okay, I'm about to write you a little (very long lol) something about this song.The first time I heard it when it just came out, I felt such a deep connection to it. Not just the vibe of the song (which seemed to sound exactly how I felt at the time) but also the lyrics just really spoke to me. I tend to be a very envious person. It's not a thing I'm very proud of, but it's true. I'm a very envious person and I constantly compare myself to other people and my happiness to other people's happiness. And though I know I shouldn't, I still do it. I think that's one of the reasons I'm so insecure and I feel depressed a lot of the time. And instead of doing something to make myself feel better, I scroll endlessly through Instagram, just looking at all the people who are having a better time than me. And I feel even worse. So yeah. You could say that this song hit very close to home. Right away when I heard it, I knew I wanted to cover it. The thing is just that I don't speak Korean (yet) and I didn't want to make any mistakes singing the lyrics. I challenged myself to make an English version of the song. So I did. And then I found an English version of the song that I liked way better. It seemed to perfectly capture everything the song was trying to say so I decided to cover this version instead. So of course, I need to give credit where credit is due. ~ I found the instrumental version of the song via kyungsoᄉo. I'm not sure if they made the instrumental themselves or if they just downloaded it from EverySing.
