While the rest of the game didn't quite live up to my expectations, the music is absolutely amazing. Shimomura really outdid herself.
This theme is just the best dungeon theme I have heard in a long while. The mix of the haunting violin and the church organ is simply stunning and really gives of the feeling of exploring an abandonded area.

Sheet music: http://bit.ly/2KSOKquThose We Must Face (Bravely Default II) - Piano Version [SHEET MUSIC]synthicify2021-03-30 | One of the most catchy tunes from Bravely Default II so far in my opinion. I didn't realize until later that one of the boss themes is also based on this theme - so no wonder I dig that battle music that much.
I put in a little insert of a second piano during the "solos" part because I simply don't have the coordination to do those runs well while playing the other melody as well - I thought it sounded best this way.
As can be seen in the sheets, I did actually transcribe most of the individual instruments in this theme. Let me know if you watch this for piano arrangements only, or if Bravely Default covers with more instruments would also be appreciated!

Upon completion I searched for any orchestral tracks for the music, but I didn’t fint any. That fact immediately inspired me to attempt make some orchestration for this game. I consider this my small contribution to repay the incredible experience this game gave me. I hope some of you who finds this will enjoy it!
I cannot believe it took me years before it reached my radar. If you have not played the game, do not google it too much - just play it. I didn’t particularly enjoy the first 2 hours, but then it just “clicked” for me and it was awesome from there on.

To the surprise of nobody the music is what I'm looking most forward to. The fact that Revo is back composing the music is huge. I will play the game when I have time, mostly for the music, but I do really enjoy the combat of the series as well.
I'm still not sure of the official name of this track. It will probably keep changing for a while. So far the possible titles could be: Bonds Sad 地平は変われど花は散る (from the official store for the soundstrack) Roughly translated to "Though The Horizon Changes, The Flowers Still Scatter"

I tried to follow his style when composing this piece, by not overthinking every decision but just get going. It took me an evening to make but it still took me longer than I would have hoped, but that was part of the challenge - for me anyway!
I'm an avid follower of Guy Michelmore (youtube.com/channel/UCMHG0rJtVF1LohiP63FJakw) and I recommend anyone that are interested to learn about music composition and production to follow this guy. Like the rest of the world I was super hyped for the game, but that song in the trailer really stuck with me and I ended up with this project before beginning the game at all.
I thought it would be an interesting challenge to reimagine a song such as this in an orchestral style. Especially the verses are quite unmelodic and difficult to make interesting. At first I intended to make it 100% instrumental but I'm quite bad at transcribing vocal lines and it just didn't carry the same weight as the vocals. So I attempted to separate the vocals from the track and use those upon my orchestration instead and was rather pleased with the result.

I have had this theme lying around for about 10 years aptly named "Instrumental" as it was the first ever non-guitar piece I wrote. At that point I had never even played the piano before. It was mostly the result of randomly plotting stuff into Guitar Pro. This full orchestration is a bit more fleshed out but I'm guessing it is 50% similar to what I sketched all those years ago.

Hope you enjoy it!
I tried to do something new with the editing. I found a project called Euphony that can visualize MIDI's in 3D, however the proejct seems to be discontinued but the source code is available so I tinkered with it a bit so it was possible to overlay it to a video. This track just got Masashi Hamauzu written all over it. I tried a lot of different approaches to arrange the second part of the track, but it was difficult to preserve the power of the background strings with only a piano. Rather than trying to fill it up with left hand runs to make it 'intense' I rather tried to transcribe and play it as closely as possible.
This game is great for any fan who has played most of the Final Fantasies. The rearranged music, references and jokes are superb in my opinion. The original story and characters however...naaah...not so much

This is a video explaining how to get the Visual Novel Reader app up and running. The purpose of the app is to serve as a universal reader for any VN in the VNDS++ format.
Since I started reading visual novels I have read almost every visual novel playable by the VNDS and also made contributions myself (Kagetsu Tohya and Kanon converters). However the developer seems to be gone, and the app has been unpurchasable for a year now. Which is why I around christmas decided I would attempt to make my own VNDS interpreter. And instead of making a new platform I decided to extend upon the VNDS-format so it could support all existing VNDS novels. It would be a waste not to. Hence I am just calling it VNDS++.
Feel free to ask me any questions!Bravely Second - Battle Theme [Piano]synthicify2015-04-21 | I have been feeling mixed about what I have heard from the demo soundtrack so far, but the battle theme...does not disappoint! To be honest I actually prefer this to Conflicts' Chime from Bravely Default. At first I transcribed the battle track from the demo, but later on I found out there was a new updated battle theme from more recent demos. Since I liked both, I decided to combine them into one arrangement, so I'm guessing this will be quite different from what actually ends up in the game.
I generally dislike doing battle themes on piano, because it's so hard to do such epic and energetic tracks justice on piano. At least it is with my skill level as it often requires high tempo and fast runs to mimic the power of an orchestra. I was over ambitious in my first arrangements of this theme, and even after making it simpler and simpler I'm still not able to play it as well as I should.
But that's not important. What IS important is that Bravely Second releases in two days. Though I won't play the japanese version, it means: full SOUNDTRACK. Feel free to suggest which you like when the time comes :)

Quite obvious I had to do this one sooner or later. though, as it would've been totally "unacceptable!" to only do 3 of the 4 characther themes xD Though speaking of unacceptable things...It seems Revo won't be making the soundtrack for Bravely Second...*sob* Apparently Ryu from Supercell will be making it in his place, though I love quite a few Supercell songs, I'm unsire if it really can live up to Revo as creating a soundtrack is somewhat different from songs.

Sheet Music: http://bit.ly/2KSOKquThe Bravely Default Piano Medley!synthicify2014-06-22 | A 12 minute medley of selected tracks from Bravely Default!
So I realised most of my videos are rather short( under 2 min), which is rather boring, so therefore I decided to make a medley of several tracks I haven't done yet. It seemed like the proper way to finish off my Bravely Default piano coverage for now :) If I counted correctly, with the addition of this medley, I have now transcribed 19 tracks from Bravely Default.
This is my first time trying to arrange a medley, so I naturally have alot to learn when it comes to arranging and making it flow well. But this was an incredible amount of work! I used nearly a month of dedicated work to transcribe, arrange and learn these 20 pages of music...(well, at least my draft was 20 pages). I really hope those who follow me because of my Bravely videos enjoy this one :)
I first intended to cut the medley before the final part as I ran out of time, and had to leave before I recorded it all, but I decided to go back again later to get that final piece recorded as well. And due to the sheer length of this, I had to lower my error-acceptance-treshold in order to be able to get the recording done in a day.
There's a total of 8 different tracks, as well as a few references to other j-rpg music thrown in :)

Now, I haven't actually played the game myself yet as I better wait until after finals, however, I have listened to the ost an awful lot. This was the track that really stood out for me from the others, with an epic full orchestration and a really sense of a battle theme. In that regard I feel my arranged failed at the last part, there was just no way I was able to replicate the epicness of the trumpets, but I have been working at this for weeks, and just couldn't get the final part right. I really recommend listening to the original!

In my opinion this is probably the best airship theme since ff6 (!). The way it mixes up with the previous tracks and speeds up the tempo, really makes it the perfect theme for soaring through the heavens.
Though I have to say that the amount of time I invested in this piece, is far from reflected in the end result. I first began transcribing this sometimes before easter and been working on it every now and then. Even after going through numerous arrangements iterations I still always end up in the same track in terms of arranging. I really wanted to finish this arrangement, and be 100% satisfied with each part, but I just had to settle with it and move on. On the other hand, I can't really think of any other BD track I REALLY feel like doing as of now. I have had That Person's Name Is in the works since newyear, with all melody and chords written down, but I don't think I will get around to finish it, so if anyone would like the unarranged sheets for that one, just ask.

So the sountrack was released some days ago, which someone uploaded to youtube, but sadly it didn't last more than a day before it was taken down by copyright infringement. Luckily for me I had already written it down, but as I have barely listened to the tracks I had to just arrange from what I had written down. It's also very prone to not being entirely accurate as it didn't give me time "prooflisten".
Thus far I actually like the animé rather well. I was abit sceptical when I found out it was from the same author as Elfen Lied, but the first four episodes aren't too bad, and with such a godly soundtrack!
Currently I remember hearing Yuzurenai Omoi (during ep3?), however I can't recall having heard Time Left yet.

Though the show seems good enough I must say that so far the music has really stood out. Especially with episode 2, where half of it was filled with good sountracks, this being one of them. Also, having to transcribe while listening to the episode with dialouge covering the music over and over again, is quite tedious. It's not the most inspring piece, musically, as it is only 2 chords throughout the whole piece, but the melody is always paramount. Can't wait for the full ost release
Edit: So the soundtrack *finally* came out, and I could update the title accordingly, at last :)

Another of the shows I will be following this season. The chorus really reminded me of quite a few other themes, and was really tempting to include quite a few (e.g FF1 main theme, Dark Cloud village, a song from Air and so on...) so I had to rewrite the arrangement quite a few times, but ended up with only a slight reference...

Gokukoku no Brynhildr, one of the few upcoming animé this season that actually peeked my interest. Probably mostly due to the PV beeing really good, both visually and musically.
So it seems this is actually the opening theme, only that it was shortened in the promotional video. I thought about redoing it now that the whole theme is available, but the cut out parts are really just "nonsense" that wouldn't really fit well for piano anyways. Except for the extended ending and the key change that was pretty cool. However, I might update the sheets with the extra parts
Usually I finish the sheet music and arrangement before recording, but for this one I didn't, so it is slightly improvised, hence a quite simple left hand as I wanted to keep the rythm clean.

My favorite of the character themes, and it is given to the most bland and boring character (of the main four that is), well, at least he got something going for him xD I had planned to extend this arrangements with parts from the vocalized concert version (as with Baby Bird), but before I got so far the concert had been taken down! :( That concert is the most epic thing I have seen recently, probably heard it through like at least 15 times...Anyways, luckily it seems to be resurfacing bit by bit xD
Listening to the original after I made the arrangement, I realize I probably should have kept it more simple, less tones, at least during the verses. It's hard to restrain oneself with such an energizing theme ;)

I really enjoyed this visual novel, though I can't say if that is because the previous one I read was so poor (Shikkoku no Sharnoth), nontheless, I really enjoyed it. The music was pretty good, and considering it is a 14 years old visual novel, I thought for sure alot of the themes would have been transcribed, shockingly, there was none. Definately the character theme I heard the most when playing the game, as Edea was pretty much the one I used to kill...pretty much everything with! And because she's obviously the best of the characters (together with Ringabel).
Even though the theme is so short, it took a surprisingly long time to get this one done, and it still turned out sloppy xD. Also decided to throw along the intro used in the vocalized version, because it's awesome! (Seems they changed the key of the theme to better fit the singer in the orchestra version)

Was just listening through the YS ost while studying yesterday and felt a sudden urge to do this. It's simply sad to see how this series is the most underrated and unknown jrpg franchise (really), considering it is as old as Final Fantasy. The only complaint of the games are some weaker story lines, but the gameplay and music easly makes up for it. The music...it can easy rival that of Uematsu's work on the Final Fantasy series.

I actually transcribed this over a month ago, but I had so much trouble trying to arrange the whole theme to make sense on piano, especially the bridge part. So to not waste all the hours that went into transcribing and failed arranging attempts, I simply dropped the bridge and focused on the last half of the theme. I gave myself quite alot of freedom with this theme. The original is a peculiar piece and proved abit tough to translate to piano, hence I slowed the tempo and added some original parts as well as another theme to atleast try make it a tad more interesting. Got abit mixed feelings about the result though. Also, I'm very good at messing up when I play , so ended up combining two takes to retain some sanity, even though it isn't really a difficult piece.

I have had quite a few requests for MIDIs. With the program I use to make sheets I can easly export the sheets straight to MIDI, however, I have been reluctant to do this because of high chance of people redistributing for their own gain (e.g Synthesia videos!). Though for people who struggle reading sheet music, I can see the appeal for MIDIs (I did so myself before learning sheet music). I will also go back and add MIDIs for all my other videos. But please don't redistribute :)
Sheet Music: http://bit.ly/2KSOKquPrelude: Moving Toward Hope - Bravely Default [Piano]synthicify2014-01-30 | The first theme you will hear in Bravely Default! It plays at the start menu and at various points throughtout the game, as well as being a well used leitmotif. The start menu is also pure genious once you reach chapter 6. I normally just rush through to load the game, but when I hesitated once, I had time to notice. Not really sure at exactly what point it changes, but it was really cool little detail. "Bravely Default: Where the Fairy Flies" Yep...just gonna leave that there!
After spending roughly two weeks at failing to get a satisfying arrangement for Land of Civil War, I decided to try something else and ended up with this which went rather painless. Also got most of the work done for one of the character themes ;) I still haven't beaten the game, but only 2 jobs missing so closing in!

I really wish there was more to do in the towns other than resting at the inn so I could hear the town themes even more, because they are all awesome (especially Eternia and Hartschild)
I apologize for somewhat sloppy triplets and dynamics, I had actually got a rather perfect take earlier after an hour of recording, but it seems the camera eventually times out if recording for too long...And for this take the firealarm actually activated towards the end, but by making the obvious priority, it turned out okay-ish afterall, though I edited a bit too fast, hence the slight unsync...

I was actually working on another track from Bravely Default for piano, but it kinda wore me out before I could finish, so decided to do something else: this.
It's the first time I actually try recording more than one instrumental track, quite less work when just recording 1 piano track synced with 1 movie. Also did some very elementary mistakes, like forgetting to turn off the TV when recording acoustic, which is the source of all the background noise...Not fine-tuning the guitars before recording...In the end it turned out quite alot messier than I imagined.

Tabs: http://bit.ly/2KSOKquStepping Along - Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood [Piano]synthicify2013-12-31 | Stepping Along from the animé Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
Decided to quickly throw together something rather easy so I could manage to get one more recording on the grand before the vacation ends.
I really enjoy the moments when this plays in the series. Nothing really says moving on with the adventure like this theme. As far as I remember it plays when they leave Rush Valley, but I'm pretty sure it plays on other occasions as well.

Sheet music: http://bit.ly/2KSOKquSilence of the Forest - Bravely Default [Piano]synthicify2013-12-28 | The dungeon theme "Silence of the Forest" from Bravely Default. Parts of this theme really sounds quite like Legend of the Wind by Joe Hisaishi, for those familiar with Studio Ghibli :)
I'm really not used to play on a real piano yet, especially having a mechanical sustain pedal is still kind of foreign, I guess I might be pedaling too hard or something, which is the cause of the "brushing" sounds throughout the video.

Sheet music: http://bit.ly/2KSOKquTo Zanarkand - Final Fantasy X [Piano]synthicify2013-12-26 | To Zanarkand from Final Fantasy X.
Although there are a gazillion covers of this one already, I thought I might as well upload it anyway from my session with the grand piano.
From Final Fantasy X Composed by Nobou UematsuThe Day the Wind Blew - Bravely Default [Piano]synthicify2013-12-25 | The Day the Wind Blew from Bravely Default, which plays for the first time in-game when you restore the wind crystal. I'm hoping to hear it more often in the game as well, but my progress has been slow since I get so captivated by the awesome music.
So I found an opportunity to play on a grand piano for the first time in my life, and my... is it something else! This is also the first time I have tried recording an acoustic piano and I really don't know squat about getting a good sound, so the audio recording I ended up with really doesn't do the grand justice.

Perhaps my favorite theme from the Bravely Default ost, okay, one of my favorites at least...definately top five though! My point being, the ost is simply stunning.
I probably should have spend some more time fine-tuning the arrangement and practiced a bit more, but today was my last chance to get it done before the holidays, so so be it.

Sheet music: http://bit.ly/2KSOKquClaire Farron - Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII [Piano]synthicify2013-12-13 | Despite the Final Fantasy series being in a little bit of a decline compared to the earlier installments, there's one thing that has yet to disappoint: the OST. And from this game this particular track stood out to me. Considering there are already plenty of Lightning themes, I can't help but think that this one probably would play at some kind of climax as its title is Lightning true name, really looking forward as to where I will find it in the game!. It has a nice "despair & hope" feel to it, and especially the "The Promise" leitmotif at the end is rather brilliant.
Edit: So I just finished the game, and it seems my prediction was right, was not disappointed with how it was used in the game, even though I had to wait untill the very end to finally hear it!

So I literally heard this theme for the first time yesterday, and decided to immediately transcribe it inbetween exam preparations. It's not entirely accurate, I couldn't be bothered to figure out the exact patterns used in the left hand, but it's somewhat okay enough.
Never gave this game much thought untill I recently listened to the ost and found out just how awesome it is. I will definately be getting this game for that reason alone xD There's especially one more theme from this game I will definately attempt.

This is one of my favorite Tales music pieces, especially with the incorporation of "Song 4 u" in the latter half. Although it kind of loses one dimension of epicness without the choir in the end... I can't wait to hear these themes in-game when it get localized!

Sheet music: http://bit.ly/2KSOKquA Snow Light (Flanoir) - Tales of Symphonia [Piano]synthicify2013-11-23 | A Snow Light from Tales of Symphonia, which seems rather appropriate as the snow has just begun to fall over here.
I have yet to play this Tales game, however, I do got the collectors edition of the ps3 remake pre-ordered and I can't wait to play it! This took way more attempts than it should have, and I yet couldn't get one clean recording, so I had to slice it up a little...
