Global flood on Mars -- but not on Earth?
CMIcreationstation 📤 4 years ago 2014-03-21
In recent years, NASA probes have sent back images of our nearest planet Mars. These images have prompted some scientists to suggest that a global flood once carved the Martian landscape, even though no liquid water has yet been found.

The Bible records and event that certainly sounds like a global flood on Earth. Genesis records that, "All the mountains under the heavens were covered." Jesus himself, referring to those not on Noah's Ark, said, "The flood came and took them all away."

Unlike the illusive water on Mars, water covers 70% of the earth's surface and water deposited sedimentary rock covers much of the land surface. So isn't it strange that many people who are open to the possibility of a global flood on Mars, despite the absence of water, immediately dismiss any suggestion that a global flood occurred on earth.

This video explains how to clean a clogged, blocked inkjet cartridge.
With subtitles: ckick on CC button to activate subtitles in your language.
if you leave an inkjet cartridge sitting in your printer without using it for several time, it can clog. The clog occur when ink on the printhead of the cartridge dries up and won't allow additional ink to pass by.
If the printer head nozzles are blocked or dried out, you will need to dissolve the dried ink.
Use these methods only on cartridges with the head built into the cartridge, Like hewlett packard, samsung, and most of canon and lexmark.
Do not use in epson cartridges, brother, and canon cartridges without printhead.
it would be useless. in this type of printer, the printhead is in the printer.
If you fill a clogged cartridge, the new ink will not unclog the head.
- Use plastic gloves to protect your hands -

We learned last year that many of the effects of climate change are irreversible. Sea levels have been rising at a greater rate year after year, and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change estimates they could rise by another meter or more by the end of this century.

As National Geographic showed us in 2013, sea levels would rise by 216 feet if all the land ice on the planet were to melt. This would dramatically reshape the continents and drown many of the world's major cities.

Travel across the dramatic flood plains of Mars to celebrate ten years of imaging the Red Planet with Mars Express

Ten years ago, on 14 January 2004, Mars Express took its very first images of Mars in colour and in 3D.

To mark the occasion, the team produced a fly-through movie of the ancient flood plain Kasei Valles. The movie is based on the 67-image mosaic released as part of the ten-years-since-launch celebrations in June 2013. See http://www.esa.int/Our_Activities/Space_Science/Mars_Express/The_floodwaters_of_Mars.

The scene spans 987 km in the north--south direction, 19--36°N, and 1550 km in the east--west direction (280--310°E). It covers 1.55 million square kilometres, an area equivalent to the size of Mongolia.

Kasei Valles is one of the largest outflow channel systems on Mars, created during dramatic flood events. From source to sink, it extends some 3000 km and descends 3 km.

Kasei Valles splits into two main branches that hug a broad island of fractured terrain -- Sacra Mensa -- rising 2 km above the channels that swerve around it. While weaker materials succumbed to the erosive power of the fast-flowing water, this hardier outcrop has stood the test of time.

Slightly further downstream, the flood waters did their best to erase the 100 km-wide Sharonov crater, crumpling its walls to the south. Around Sharonov many small streamlined islands form teardrop shapes rising from the riverbed as water swept around these natural obstacles.

The Planetary Science and Remote Sensing Group at Freie Universität Berlin produced the movie. The processing of the High Resolution Stereo Camera image data was carried out at the DLR German Aerospace Center.

Space & The Universe HD 📤 1 week ago 2019-02-15
An exoplanet (extrasolar planet) is a planet located outside the Solar System. The first evidence of an exoplanet was noted as early as 1917, but was not recognized as such. However, the first scientific detection of an exoplanet began in 1988. Shortly afterwards, the first confirmed detection came in 1992, with the discovery of several terrestrial-mass planets orbiting the pulsar PSR B1257+12. The first confirmation of an exoplanet orbiting a main-sequence star was made in 1995, when a giant planet was found in a four-day orbit around the nearby star 51 Pegasi. Some exoplanets have been imaged directly by telescopes, but the vast majority have been detected through indirect methods, such as the transit method and the radial-velocity method. As of 1 February 2019, there are 3,976 confirmed planets in 2,971 systems, with 653 systems having more than one planet. This is a list of the most notable discoveries.

Cosmic Journeys - Mars: Earth that Never WasCosmic Journeys - Mars: Earth that Never Was
Cosmic Journeys - Mars: Earth that Never Was
SpaceRip 📤 7 years ago 2011-04-30
Did Mars long ago develop far enough for life to arise? If so, does anything still live within Mars' dusty plains, beneath its ice caps, or somewhere underground?

In 1964 the Mariner Four spacecraft flew by Mars and got a good look. What it saw looked more like the Moon than the Earth. Then, in the mid-1970's, two lander-orbiter robot teams, named Viking, went in for an even closer look. The landers tested the soil for the chemical residues of life. All the evidence from Viking told us: Mars is dead. And extremely harsh.

The mission recorded Martian surface temperatures from -17 degrees Celsius down to -107. We now know it can get even colder than that at the poles. The atmosphere is 95% carbon dioxide, with only traces of oxygen. And it's extremely thin, with less than one percent the surface pressure of Earth's atmosphere.

And it's bone dry. In fact, the Sahara Desert is a rainforest compared to Mars, where water vapor is a trace gas in the atmosphere. On Earth, impact craters erode over time from wind and water... and even volcanic activity. On Mars, they can linger for billions of years.

Earth's surface is shaped and reshaped by the horizontal movement of plates that make up its crust driven by heat welling up from the planet's hot interior. At half the width and only 11% the mass of Earth, Mars doesn't generate enough heat to support wide-scale plate tectonics.

Nor does it have the gravity to hold a thick atmosphere needed to store enough heat at the surface to allow liquid water to flow. Nonetheless, some areas that looked to Viking-era scientists like craters and volcanic areas, were later shown to be riverbeds, lake bottoms, and ocean shorelines.

If water once flowed on Mars' surface, where did it all go?

This was the scene at NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab in 2004. The twin rovers Spirit and Opportunity had just bounced down on the Red Planet. When the excitement died down, the rovers were set off on one of the most remarkable journeys in the history of planetary exploration. Missions like this could one day pave the way for a day when we'll view images from a real astronaut's camera.

Opportunity had come to rest in a small crater near the equator, at a spot called Meridiani Planum. Here, in plain view, on a nearby crater wall, its camera revealed exposed bedrock, the first ever seen on Mars. Not far away, the rover found layered rocks on the face of a cliff. On Earth, they typically form as sedimentary layers at the bottom of oceans.

And at every turn, Opportunity rolled across tiny, smooth, round pellets. They became known as "blueberries" because they appeared purplish-brown against Mars' rust-colored surface. Initially thought to be volcanic in origin, they turned out to be iron-rich spherules of the type that form within cavities in the mud at the bottom of an ocean.

Drilling into rocks, the rover inserted a spectrometer to read the mineral content. The readings showed significant amounts of sulfate salt, a tracer for standing water. That wasn't all. Spirit's broken wheel, dragging behind it, exposed soils saturated in salt.

Clearly there once was water on Mars' surface, but how long ago? And, if there is anything left, where would you find it? One possible answer: the North Pole. From orbit, this region seemed to be covered in frozen CO2 - what we call dry ice. But was there water ice below the surface?

Enter Phoenix, a lander that touched down near the North Pole in early 2008. Radar readings from orbit, taken by the Mars Express mission, hinted at the presence of ice just below the surface.

The Phoenix lander's descent thrusters blew away the top layer of soil, allowing its camera to snap pictures of what looked like ice. Scientists instructed the robot to conduct a simple experiment: reach out and dig a trench, then watch what happens.

As expected, clumps of white stuff appeared. A couple of days later, it was gone. Vaporized. That means it can't be salt or frozen CO2, which is stable in the cold dry temperatures of the Martian pole. So it had to be water, the first ever directly seen on Mars.

There are indications that the North Pole was actually warm enough in the recent past for water ice to become liquid. The Mars Reconaissance Orbiter, or MRO, used radar pulses to peer beneath the surface of the ice cap. These data reveal that the ice, just over a mile thick, formed in a succession of layers as the climate alternated between warm and cold.

Our planet avoids mood swings like this in part because its spin is stabilized by a massive moon. Mars' spin is not, so it can really wobble, with the pole tilting toward the sun for long periods. New observations by the MRO spacecraft show that these wobbles can lead to dramatic releases of CO2, and warming periods due to an increase in the greenhouse effect.

Truthseeker 📤 7 years ago 2011-08-26
Dr. Emil Silvestru has published over 40 peer reviewed papers, a book, & worked as a professor & scientist in secular institutions. He explains the evidence for a global flood, including some very interesting new research..very strong evidence that only a global flood can answer. It gets better & better as it goes on..the best evidence is in the last 1/2 or so.

In history, Lyell & Cuvier were opponents & Lyell's concepts of uniformitarianism triumphed over catastrophism for some decades & those who advocated catastrophism were ridiculed. When Harlan Bretz proposed a flood in the Missoula area, it was ridiculed due to people accepting Lyell's uniformitarianism & evolution. But now we know Bretsz was right. This area was for certain made by a flood.

Loius Agassiz predicted massive ice sheets in the USA...Darwin didn't believe him...Agassiz came to America & found evidence of massive ice sheets causing many features on the continent. He stayed as Harvard Professor.

In the grand Canyon, we have the coconino sandstone lying on top of the hermit shale. But, there are 10 million years missing between them (A paraconformity). So for 10 million years, the Hermite shale was exposed to erosion, but has hardly a scratch of evidence of this & yet the prevailing evolutionary wisdom is that the whole Grand Canyon was cut out of rock in 1 million years? How does that work logically?

People often ask how the flood could lay down layers of rock. Well, flumes of water have demonstrated that many layers, smoothly bound, can be laid down in moving water. Many layers laid down with no erosion between them is a very strong evidence of fast deposition. If a global flood happened, we should have more of them & we do.

Monterey Canyon is wider, deeper & longer & is bigger than the Grand Canyon. What could make this on the bottom of the ocean? No rivers are flowing there. For creationists, it's pretty simple...the global flood. Evolutionists have no answer. & more & more of these canyons are being found.

Creationists like evolutionists invent hypotheses that are not always right & need to correct them (ex: the canopy hypothesis). Baumgardner's creationist plate tectonics theory has a lot of excellent explanations for the flood, but there were some things it could explain well. This has been improved by Michael Oard, but he also admits weak points that need to be figured out. Oard published papers on vertical lift of plates that could move them up or down 1000s of feet in just a short time***. But, he didn't have a mechanism to explain how. He predicted a mechanism would be found for that . In 2011, a mechanism for vertical lift of continents was published.

Evolutionists claim that you can't produce fine sediments & sequences of silts in moving water. "This has led to bias Schieber explains, that whenever mudstones are encountered in the sedimentary rock record, they are generally interpreted as quiet water deposits." As waters clear, Science Daily A "tarred" issue (~81:00). But, the Bouma sequence shows that it can be done even from 1962.

Her are some examples of layers with gaps & no erosion:
The Bottom layer is the Waterways Formation, Middle Devonian, 390 million years. Above it is the Ft. McMurray Formation, Cretaceous, 130 million years. 260 million year different..and yet the top of the lowest layer is perfectly flat...and exposed for 260 million years & no erosion??? How???

The Himalaya erosion rate is ~2.7 mm/year. That means 135 km had to be eroded...so the mountain would have had to start in the mantle***...which is not possible.

Folding in geology can be seen is everywhere. This is a prediction of creation science & a global flood & we see it everywhere as well as in situ fossil trees (polystrate fossils) such as in Shamokin, Penn. The Whaleback Anticline. Evolution can't explain these well. Creation science can.

You need cement to bind grains to turn sand into sandstone & trees into stone fossils. A global flood is by far best explanation. As plates went down fast, they would drag down water, sediments & other things very deep down into the earth (1000 km??) . If you do that, it would turn it into volatiles (?), highly active chemical solutions. These are lighter & will move up. As they come to the crust, they'll change sand & other sediments into stone & also turn dead things into fossils. This is the ONLY valid scenario on a global scale.

There are many Large Igneous Provinces all over the globe. Only a global catastrophe could cause this.

What would be expected from a global flood? See the predictions and confirmations that a global flood makes in the script here:

Scientists at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory say new images from the surface of Mars may hold evidence that flowing water exists on the planet.

The potential discovery is noteworthy, since scientists have held on to the possibility of traces of water existing under the surface of Mars but had almost written off the possibility of flowing water still existing on the planet's surface.

Orbiting spacecraft captured the imagery, which appears to show liquid flowing down a slope on the planet's surface during a seasonal change in which surface temperatures rise.

"We still don't have a smoking gun for existence of water in RSL, although we're not sure how this process would take place without water," said Lujendra Ojha, lead author of the new report and a graduate student at the Georgia Institute of Technology. RSL refers to recurring slope lineae, the techincal term for the potential water flow.

"The flow of water, even briny water, anywhere on Mars today would be a major discovery, impacting our understanding of present climate change on Mars and possibly indicating potential habitats for life near the surface on modern Mars," said JPL's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter project scientist Richard Zurek.

In theory, that could mean previously frozen water was temporarily melting and moving downward.

But even "warm" temperatures on the red planet's surface are still well below freezing. So, how could water move at all?

NASA says iron-rich minerals on the planet's surface, such as ferric sulfate, could act as a sort of antifreeze, allowing water to remain liquid despite freezing temperatures.

The potential finding follows a 2011 study from Ojha that first pointed to potential saltwater flows on the planet's surface. In his new paper, Ojha said the water flows appear to continue for about two months' time.

The results were published in the latest issue of the journal Geophysical Research Letters.

In order show:

Mars
Venus
Neptune
Uranus
Jupiter
Saturn

Mercury is intentionally left off as it isn't Much bigger than our Moon (and hence is boring)

Everything is correctly scaled. The Axial tilts are not particularly accurate.
the moon that flies in front of Saturn is Tethys. It is Tiny. but *very* close

Dione would be on a collision course, it's orbital distance from Saturn is Nearly identical to our Moon's orbit around Earth

Titan, which is Larger than our Moon, is outside the orbit of Dione

****************
on Jupiter, you might be able to make out the 4 big moons, They all have orbits larger than our moons orbit. but I stuck them on the far side of jupiter so that they could be seen so it looks as if they are closer (to Jupiter) than they really are.

***************
Video creation method
I created an Earth Moon system in 3dsmax, with accurate sizes and accurate orbital distances.. I than matched video of the real Moon with my video camera, against my model. I also researched the correct FOV of my video camera. I used both methods to verify my Virtual camera's FOV (around 47 degrees). I next modeled up the rest of the planets in proper scale (Real values) set at the distance of the moon (also real values), created the animation of them rotating around, and composited the whole bunch.

***************
Faq:

Scales used in Visualization:
Celestial Body Radius (in km)
Moon: 1738
Mars: 3397
Venus: 6052
Neptune: 25,269 (equatorial) 24,340 (polar)
Uranus: 25,559 (equatorial) 24,973 (polar)
Jupiter: 71,490 (equatorial) 66,854 (polar)
Saturn: 60,268 (equatorial) 54,360 (polar) (not including rings)

Distance to Moon 384,000km

Faq: (will expand as needed)

1, We would not be engulfed by Jupiter or any other planet, Jupiter's radius is 71,490 km and the distance to the Moon is 384,000km

2, Saturn is not larger than Jupiter. Saturn + RINGS is larger than Jupiter

3, We would suffer from really really horrible tides, and Volcanoes And some pretty bad Radiation from Jupiter. It *could* strip away our atmosphere, but haven't done the math. Eventually our planet would become tidally locked (that is the same side of Earth would always face Jupiter. we would Still have some bad tides and volcanoes from being in a slightly ellipitical orbit, and from the other moons of Jupiter, and the Sun having tidal influence. I have not calculated how bad the Tides would be. A Simple guess would be at Least 300 times more exaggerated than they are now, This figure could be way off, it's simply an educated guess.

4, We would not be in the rings of Saturn. Or to rephrase that, we would not be in any of the Visable rings of Saturn, There are some very very faint rings that strech out far that we would be in, but i did not model them.

5, We would not be crushed by the Gravity of Jupiter, This is not how orbiting works!.
However, at the Roche limit, we WOULD become a new ring system, The Roche limit is *about* 36,000km above the "surface" of Jupiter or 106,000km from the center of Jupiter. So, to reiterate if the center of Jupiter was 106,000km away from the center of the earth, Our planet would become a new Ring system of Jupiter.

6, I did not model the Ring of debris around Uranus (this faq will be deleted in a few days)

7, This is not an ad for any beer company, no one has endorsed me, or this animation, It's just the traffic that drove by.

8, There is Ring Shine on Saturn, but it is very faint, the Rings are reflecting light onto Saturn in the animation. The moon that flies by is Tethys

9, I love Pluto, and Mercury. They are left off because they are too small. Pluto is smaller than our Moon, and Mercury is not significantly larger than our Moon.

10, The "Sun" i used for lighting the planets is slightly off from reality, this was done so that they weren't totally dark and boring

11 FOV is about 47 degrees

12 Orbiting! Yes! we would be a moon of Saturn, Jupiter, Uranus, and Neptune. They are much more massive than the Earth. Venus is about the same size of the Earth and we would orbit around a center point between us

13 Rotation rates and axial tilts are not accurate to anything

14 Radius of the Sun is 695,500 km, and hence if it were where our Moon is, we would be engulfed by it

Script-
Human beings have been fascinated with the unknown of space for thousands of years and more recently, traveling to other worlds. We have sent satellites to distant planets and received images of places you thought only existed in our dreams or nightmares. NASA along with other agency's are working around the clock to get us to Mars, to send humans to a new planet. The kind of stuff you see in science fiction movies. But mankind plans to not only land on, but in the end settle on and terraform Mars, while exploiting both of its moons. Once we have conquered mars and we are happily settled on the red planet, hopefully our technology has advanced to the point where we can travel light years, then mankind will venture in to the darkness of the universe, away from the comfort of our solar system. Obviously our technology will have to be largely advanced, As we all need a supply of oxygen, heat, water and food to survive in space indefinitely and with interstellar travel, we will need lots of it. But let's assume that the human race has worked out all these problems, built a ship capable of things like artificial gravity to help prevent bone loss and discovered a propulsion engine that can get us to light speed etc. How would interstellar travel change the human body? Would we start to evolve in to a different state to those on Earth? Well on Earth humans have been evolving for millions of years, our early ancestors led the way in human evolution, and interstellar traveling could lead us to a new direction of evolution. A direction of space humans. Multigenerational ships would provide new conditions like breathing-gas compositions, pressures, gravity and radiation environments along with other things that could act on the early stages of embryo and fetus development. This will be natural selection of new selective agents on the human body. The types of new characteristics that could evolve would be very hard to predict, because mutation is ultimately random, and mutation is the origin of new characteristics. It's not entirely possible to say precisely what will happen. However we do know that the human body does change under different conditions. Some people have migrated to higher elevations, where they are under somewhat less pressure. Their biology has changed to account for that, or to make it possible to live there. High-altitude adaptation in humans is an instance of evolutionary modification in human populations. Study's have shown that there blood oxygen levels are different than say a low altitude persons. They also have deeper chests that allow better breathing, this special adaptation is now recognised as one of the finest examples of natural selection in action and has become the fastest case of human evolution in the scientific record, as it is estimated to of occurred in less than 3,000 years. So if these changes have happened to people living on Earth, but just in a different conditions. Then the chances of the human body adapting to an off earth condition is very high. But evolution takes time, a lot of time, and if our technology is as advanced at this point to take us to new systems then maybe we will control our own evolution. Maybe we will genetically adapt our body's to be more sufficient in deep space conditions. Ideas such as eliminating our lungs, so that we don't need oxygen or maybe getting rid of parts of the digestive system so we don't need food. In the future there may be ways of energising our bodies fully, by using nano bots. Some other ideas are to develop an advanced inner ear that could prevent motion sickness or genes for bone regeneration. Other suggestions are that we need to be smaller in stature, utilise our energy better and even to lose our hair. All of this May sound a little far fetched, and predicting what will happen is practically impossible. We might become 8 armed jelly humans for we know, but the fact of the matter is we will have to change in some way or form to survive long distance space travel. Potentially becoming a new race of human beings.

If you were able to choose the planet you lived on, which one would it be? Well, I would definitely choose earth, because it is so well suited for life. Whether you're considering the Earth's distance from the sun, or its gravity, axial tilt or magnetic field, one conclusion is inescapable. Earth is finely tuned for life.
Many see this as evidence for a designer but others don't. If earth wasn't finely tuned, they say, we wouldn't even exist so it doesn't indicate a designer. But is that a satisfactory answer? Imagined you were dragged before a trained firing squad and they all fired and all missed. If I asked you why you're not dead and you answered, "Well if I did die I wouldn't be here to tell you," you think I'd be satisfied with that explanation?
In the same way, atheists cannot give a satisfactory answer for earth being so finely tuned for life.

Polystrate Fossils -- evidence against millions of years
CMIcreationstation 📤 5 years ago 2013-03-07
Most people are under the impression that coal forms slowly in swamps over millions of years. But this view neglects the testimony of tree trunk fossils that cut across many coal layers, known as polystrate fossils. If these tree trunks were buried gradually over thousands of years the top parts of the trees would have rotted away before they could be protected by sediment.

Derek Ager, Professor of Geology at University College of Swansea recognized this when he wrote of trees buried in coal seams, 'If one estimates the total thickness of the British Coal Measures as about 1,000 m, laid down in about 10 million years, then, assuming a constant rate of sedimentation, it would have taken 100,000 years to bury a tree 10 m high, which is ridiculous'.

He then went on to say, 'we cannot escape the conclusion that sedimentation was at times very rapid indeed'.

So the slow-swamp-story should itself be laid to rest.

Global flood on Mars -- but not on Earth? by CMIcreationstation

Global flood on Mars -- but not on Earth?
