This is my first video I've posted in a while. I'm hoping to upload more soon.
I graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with a degree in music this year and I'm now studying towards a Masters in Music Therapy.
This tune is called Reflections. I wrote it at the beginning of fourth year when I was looking back on my years of uni. I think the piece sounds quite reflective! I have to apologise though, as the video says it is called Andrew's Waltz. It is called Reflections. Andrew's waltz can be found on my channel (played on piano). Just a mistake made by myself when creating the video. Sorry for any confusion caused.

Enjoy! xxMissing Time - Richard Wongfantinigirl922020-08-13 | A brilliant tune for testing out the fingers! Triplets galore! I love playing this tune and absolutely recommend any box player to try it.
Apologies for the late upload, I have had some tech issues. My laptop still isn't working however, I have acquired tech as a go-between until I get something sorted.
Thank you for your patience!Patreon and tune book progress!fantinigirl922020-07-15 | Hello! A peerie update on how things are going! Things seem to be progressing well at the moment. My Patreon account is now live! You can check it out by following this link: https://www.patreon.com/lanaelainemusic
Apologies for the lack of video quality here, getting videos done with a toddler can be challenging so I escaped out to the shed door and my hands are really shaky so the video is pretty amusing to watch back! Haha!
Thanks again for the support, you are all awesome! XxTune book update!fantinigirl922020-05-22 | Just a bit of an update for you all! I'm going to make a tune book! 🤩🤯🥰 Details in this video! Thank you all so much! 💜Simon Thoumire's - John McCuskerfantinigirl922020-05-19 | Here's a video featuring the whole family, cat and all! This jig is written by John McCusker for Simon Thoumire. Both individuals are musical maestro's in their own right! It's a brilliant tune and is a session favourite. The Hut on Staffin Island - Phil Cunninghamfantinigirl922020-05-10 | This is a tune I learnt when I was studying at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (formerly the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama). Ena was down for a sleep when we ceased the opportunity for a "babyless" tune. It didn't feel the same though so I think she will probably feature in most of (or all) future videos. 😊❤️ Enjoy! 🥰Tam Lyn's/The Glasgow Reelfantinigirl922020-05-07 | Here's another one for you all. Fairly ropey in places! It's pretty cold once the sun starts going down so the old fingers were starting to cease up! Hope you enjoy! Thanks for watching 😊 xxSuper speedy Sunday! Brechin wind - Sandy Brechinfantinigirl922020-04-26 | Seeing as I forgot to upload on fast tune Friday, I've repurposed Sunday (a traditionally slow day) to be "Super speedy Sunday!" 🙈Here's Brechin Wind composed by Sandy Brechin.Breidablik - Lana Elainefantinigirl922020-04-18 | This is a tune that I wrote after viewing the house we now live in. Seeing the view (seen here in the background of this video) for the first time inspired me to write this piece of music.Fast tune Friday! Clueless - Gordon Duncanfantinigirl922020-04-17 | One of Gordon Duncan's many brilliant tunes, Clueless. Performed outside our house on this beautiful Friday. Me, my husband and daughter. The best way to spend an evening in Shetland when the weather outside is cold and blustery! Here is another collaboration I am involved with at the moment. Having a lot of fun accompanying on piano! =)
Pamela Rose Grant - Alasdair Fraser Lorna's Reel - Willie HunterFarewell to Whalley Range & Freefallingfantinigirl922017-08-11 | A quick video, a bit rough around the edges, but fun none the less! Absolutely love the bones of this lass, Louise Bichan. Fellow islander and one of my best pals. Managed to squeeze in a quick tune whilst Lou was in Shetland doing her fantastic photography thing! =)The House in Rose Valley - Phil Cunninghamfantinigirl922017-07-05 | The House in Rose Valley - Phil Cunningham
This beautiful tune, written by Phil Cunningham, was the sound track for Last of the Mohicans. I like to play this piece slowly, really pulling on the timing!
Hope you enjoy this track. =) Lana Elaine xxUnst Bridal Marchfantinigirl922017-06-25 | The Unst Bridal March - a traditional Shetland tune.
Originally this tune would be played by a fiddler who would lead the wedding party from the church. Quite a skill to play and walk around considering there would have likely been no proper roads at the time!
I have tried to incorporate sustained notes into the melody to mimic the ringing strings that feature in the tune when played on fiddle.
Enjoy! =) xxTUNE GIVEAWAY WINNER ANNOUNCEMENTfantinigirl922017-05-12 | A huge thank you to all who have entered into my first ever tune giveaway!

PS this was filmed on my iPad so it is a very poor quality video. I apologise for the quality of the sound but also for the length my forearms appear to be at this angle! haha! Awful. Hopefully the singing will make up for this. =) xxHamnataing - Chris Stoutfantinigirl922016-12-30 | Another quick video for 2016! Hamnataing composed by Chris Stout. This has to be one of my favourite tunes at the moment. It is a hornpipe but I've always enjoyed playing it with sustained basses. It makes me think of the drones of a hardanger fiddle which would suit this tune beautifully. Chris Stout is a fellow Shetlander who has composed bucket loads of really fun tunes over the years.Frank's Reel - John McCuskerfantinigirl922016-12-30 | A very rough around the edges video of Frank's Reel. Composed by John McCusker, this is a tune that I learnt in a session many years ago. I expect that there may be turns and variations in the way I play it because of this so it will not be note perfect by any means!Kathleen Graham's 9/8 composed by Mairearad Greenfantinigirl922016-03-31 | This is a 9/8 tune in F written by a favourite composer of mine, Mairearad Green.
It has been such a nice day today that I thought I would just have to get a video done in the sunshine. Shetland is tropical in weather like this, utterly beautiful! The video is recorded on my iPad so I apologise for the quality, I was too excited and just had to get one made immediately so grabbed the closest device I could!
I also apologise for looking a bit doom and gloom, I've had a trip to the dentist today so half my face is still numb! Haha! Hope you enjoy this video. =D Lana xxMatthew Adam and Lana Elaine - I followed firesfantinigirl922016-03-03 | A brand new music project! Voila! We spent a few hours this afternoon looking at new material and had a run through this song by Matthew and the Atlas. It's in the early stages of development but hope you enjoy!Wiilafjord - Traditional Shetland Reelfantinigirl922014-10-13 | This is a very popular, traditional Shetland reel. I learnt this whilst learning another 99 reels for a sponsored reel-a-thon back in 2009. It features on many albums including Tom Anderson's: Haand me doon da fiddle.Morrison's Jig Youtubefantinigirl922014-10-09 | Seeing as it's the start of the Shetland Box and Fiddle Festival I thought I'd better post a video. As much as I'd love to be home playing and dancing away to my hearts content, due to university commitments, I'm unable to attend this year. *insert sad face here*
This is a traditional Scottish tune called Morrison's Jig. Peter Wood, my first accordion tutor, taught it to me many, many years ago. It is a very common session tune and is played at a lot of ceilidhs. It's fun and easy to play, so if you would like to learn this tune, drop me a comment below and I will try to make a tutorial for it.
Please subscribe and like. If you are interested in keeping up to date with my gig information, I am on Facebook. Find me under: Lana Elaine Music. Go on, you know you want to! =PBoite De Frissonsfantinigirl922013-06-05 | Another clip from my third year end of year recital at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. I'm not entirely sure who composed this piece, which I do mention in my introduction. Though this was an absolutely nuts piece of music to learn, once I got my fingers around it, it is one of my favourite pieces to play now.
Musicians in this clip are: Ian Muir-Piano: also my accordion teacher at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Brodie Jarvie- Bass, Stephen Henderson- Drums.
Again, apologies for the placement of my music stand. It only had my program on it as we are not allowed to use music in our exams.Callanish(Alasdair McCulloch)/The Raffle(Mairearad Green)fantinigirl922012-06-24 | Unboxed.

A couple of Jigs I composed and arranged. The first one is called Chunder struck and the second one is called accidentally sober. I had to compose and arrange a duo set for university and I decided to do something completely different. So, I chose to compose and perform on piano as well as get Jazz drums involved! So, this is what I came up with! In this recording, it is just me and Stephen.
