Allow me to add that yes, I agree the beautiful iris looks WEIRD on the cheeks in the video for some reason. It looks fine in person - don't be afraid to use it - just make sure you mix something that has a bit of a warmer tone with it.

If you live in or near San Francisco or Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx or Queens, I will come to YOU! I will do your makeup. We will talk and you can ask me anything and everything you want to know about how to best do your makeup for your face and then we will have a mini photoshoot. If you live in New York, this will need to take place sometime while I am out there February 11th-23rd
If you win this prize and you live elsewhere, we will have an hour and half (possibly longer as time seems to fly when I'm doing makeup related stuff - as long as that's okay with you!) chat/lesson via Skype.
Thank you to Maggie Bags for the generous donation. Check them out here: http://www.maggiebags.net
You have until 3pm PST February 5th to donate and "purchase" your tickets!!! So go... NOW! :D

I fell in LOVE with the spirit behind her music. The lyrics of most of her songs are inspiring and I love the ones with upbeat melodies. You may have heard her music already on various tv channels and not even know it. Go listen!!

Shortly before my one year anniversary I wrote down everything I could remember and I just reposted it on my blog - http://www.makeupbyrisa.blogspot.com - if you'd like to read more.
I was diagnosed with Leukemia (APML) in 2003 and have been in remission since January 2004. While there is no cure for any kind of cancer, with my type, doctors consider you "cured" after you've been in remission for 5 years. I passed that mark in January of this past year, so YAY for being a cancer Survivor!
My physical scars have healed as much as theyre going to (I will always have chronic arthritis in my pelvic bone from complications during my first biopsy), though I believe the psychological effects, which were life altering, will be everlasting. When youre aware that youre on deaths doorstep it tends to alter your entire approach to life. At least, it did for me. You learn to appreciate something as simple as fresh air or eating a piece of fresh fruit.
What many of us tend to forget is that we are all on deaths doorstep in a sense. None of us know when were going to die. Cliché as it may sound, live your life knowing that you are going to die and you dont know when. So say what you want to say, be who you want to be, do what makes you happyNOW. Not tomorrow, but right now.
I am not a religious person by any means, but I am spiritual. And I do believe from the bottom of my soul that having Leukemia was the largest blessing Ive ever received. If youre not someone who looks at things from a glass half full perspective, try and teach yourself to do so. Positive energy is amazing once you learn to embrace it and look on the brighter side.
