Hey Everyone,
In this video, we'll take a look at how we can build a chatbot using Power Virtual Agent to help users fill a form.
The example I have is a user requiring assistance to fill a job application and how the chatbot can provide guidance. This is one of those many scenarios where you have a simple form that needs to be filled and having a chat with a bot makes things so much easier.

This is an introduction video to Microsoft Syntex which used to be called as SharePoint Syntex. We start by looking at its history back when it was part of Project Cortex and how it transformed. I then switch gears and talk about how it utilizes SharePoint Content types, spent a few minutes explaining content types as well. Next, I talk about the pre-built and the custom model options available and the differences. Finally, I end with a demo on how I use the pre-built receipts model for my day-to-day activities. This is the first of many more videos on this topic.

Hey Everyone,
In this video we'll take a look at the enhancement to the Power BI Integration function in Power Apps.
Power BI enables data insights and better decision-making, while Power Apps enables everyone to build and use apps that connect to business data. Using the Power Apps visual, you can pass context-aware data to a canvas app, which updates in real time as you make changes to your report. Now, your app users can derive business insights and take actions from right within their Power BI reports and dashboards.

Hey Everyone,
In this video I'll walk you through a canvas app I had to build using SharePoint lists as the backend data source. The app was used to give a coupon that was made available for the company employees by a vendor. Since the coupons were in limited quantity it was a first-come-first-serve basis and hence they wanted a way to automate this process and also keep track of who got what. This involved customized SharePoint list permissions so that users can only see what they need to.
In this video I'll walk you through a real-world scenario of how the app was built originally but it didn't work as planned due to the behavior of the Power Apps permissions. Hence some of the functionality had to be moved to Power Automate.

Hey Everyone,
Due to popular demand, I have released a part 2 version of the 'Power Apps Racing Scoreboard Canvas App'. This video starts with me showing an enhancement I had to recently add which is the countdown timer.
I then focus on the backend data sources and the Power Automate flow. We have a SharePoint list which keeps track of all the scores that are added by team leaders. We then have a flow that runs once a day to count the individual scores and add the sum value to a another list which is referred to by the app.
As a bonus, I show you have to add items in bulk to a SharePoint list.

In order for this to work successfully, I'll walk you through how to build a data source from scratch, in this case a SharePoint list, where you save the list of 2D and 3D models as attachments and reference their links. We will then build a canvas type mobile app, emphasizing on the new feature.

Hey Everyone,
Thanks to the combination of Power Apps Office365Groups and StartScreen function, you can now control which users accessing the app also have rights to the backend SharePoint data source.
In this video, we'll take a look at a scenario where users who have access to the app but do not have access to the backend SharePoint site are automatically re-routed to a denied screen. This is accomplished using a combination of IsEmpty, Filter and User functions.

Hey Everyone,
In this video, we'll deep-dive in the upvote answers feature that released in Yammer Enterprise in March 2022. This was a feature that was announced in the November 2021 Microsoft Ignite event.
Community members can upvote a response if it’s a helpful or useful contribution to the question. Anyone can view who voted for each reply. You can only vote for a reply once, but you can vote on more than one reply. The more votes an answer receives, the higher it’ll go in the conversation. This saves you time by being able to quickly scan for information without having to scroll through answers to find the most useful response.

Hey Everyone,
So as in-person events have started, I wanted an easier way to gather contacts. I've noticed most if not all the conferences IDs already have a QR code which are used by the sponsors when you visit their booth. Scanning this code provides them your contact information. Hence I decided to use the barcode scanner that comes with Power Apps and which uses the built-in native camera. The app also has ways to pick and choose the different delimiter options available.
This isn't a full-proof solution because sometimes the barcode scanner results are not clear text and hence I have my back-up plan also added to the same app which is the business card scanner.

Hey Everyone,
In this video we'll will look at a scheduled flow that sends email notifications based on a dynamic list and how the flow will automatically loop back to the beginning once it reaches the end.
I lead a team for video projection and live streaming and I send a friendly reminder to folks whose turn it is to be the projectionist. This was a weekly process that I carried out manually, however, with a little innovation and flow, I was able to automate the process. Now all I have to do is update the schedule list and Power Automate sends the notifications dynamically.
You can use this same logic for your company's on-call schedule reminders or even the work schedule reminders.

In this video, I'll walk you through how to build your shopping list app using Power Apps Canvas, Power Automate and SharePoint. The app demos how you can either use an existing template of shopping list or build your own list and refer to it. In the backend we have several tables/lists that are used to keep track of everything.
While I have titled this as a shopping list app, the same process can be used for assigning daily tasks to your employees, or a daily delivery list or even an employee on-boarding process. So many options!

Hey Everyone,
In this video, We first start by learning what the "Z" pattern means and then look at scenarios. Then we focus our attention on the Priority child and the Enable child control focus feature that are available inside a container. Then we see how the two work together to improve the user interface for those who prefer to use keyboard navigation.
Prioritize child controls: Determines the order of navigation (Z-order) for child controls on canvas when pressing tab key on the keyboard.
- On (Default): Pressing the tab key on the keyboard will first progress through all child controls before moving the focus outside of the selected container or component instance. This option is recommended for similarly nested HTML elements.
- Off: Pressing the tab key on the keyboard will progress through all controls only based on Z-order, ignoring parent-child relationship between controls or containers for keyboard navigation.

Hey Everyone,
In this video, I'll walk you through how I was able to take an existing travel app that I refer to for the local light rail and rebuild it in Power Apps. I used the Power Apps geospatial controls to replicate all the features in the original app with the flexibility to add my own items to it.

Hey Everyone,
In this video, I'll explain how to create a scrolling gallery in a Power Apps. This feature will give you the flexibility to view only one item at a time, select to go forward or backward or even randomly select items. You can also see how many items were before or after. We'll achieve all of this using galleries, a combination of filter and if function and global variables.

What started as my Fall 2021 project of techno music comprises of 14 loops from Garageband and Mainstage. This is my first attempt of adding vocal loops and hence it took me longer than usual to get the tune just right.
Hope you enjoy it!

Hey Everyone,
In this video, we'll take a look at the new improvements made in the Mixed Reality feature. This improvements are to increase predictability and usability.
Firstly, Power Apps now support scaling your models, images, and shapes in Mixed Reality. The ability to scale is rolling out this week on app version 3.21115, so you may need to manually update your Power Apps app to try it out.
Finally, they have added a new property called Box Draw that allows users to expect only rectangular shapes, which is usable for Area, Volume, or Freeform measurement types.
They have also improved the Expected Measurements feature to increase the usability of data, and allow for finer control.
• Added overrides for measurement type and box draw properties for each expected measurement
• Added automatic labelling of photos captured with their associated measurement to more easily correlate images to each data point in your apps.
