Hey y'all! Sorry for the extended leave of absence, school and work have been super busy lately and I've had barely any time for anything fun ;A;
But I'm back today to bring you a translation for Suzumu's amazing new song, Shoddy Utopia Policy! A song about the confusion that comes about with growing up in a school environment - something I'm sure we can all relate to.
The art by Saine is beautiful and while mostly blue, is insanely colourful - I love Saine's art to bits. Also Rin sounds amazing with Gibson's lovely guitar work. I'm loving the Rin Append~ Suzumu is such a versatile musician uwu
On the topic of Suzumu and Saine, if you haven't checked out Indulging: Idol Syndrome - get on that shiz, it's so darn catchy~
Translators' Notes: -nada -me gusta esta cancion. -oh, the Japanese writing at the end is just the lyrics written out, so I didn't bother re-subbing them also they probably wouldn't fit.

Hi friends! Here I come today with a translation for Halyosy's Connecting. This is uploaded in tandem with Connecting - World Edition ver Amity and ver Borders, as my friend Tune and I provided the English translation for that collaboration, as we did with Blessing - World Edition beforehand. I've refined it a little in this video so there are a few minor differences in wording. I will link both videos of Connecting - World Edition down below if you would be interested in checking them out. Everybody worked their butts off trying to make it the best it can be, so I'd love it if you'd check it out.
Sorry the subtitles are a little less fancy than they could be! In like 5 days time I leave for a semester exchange to Japan so I've been in a mad rush lately getting my affairs sorted for the trip, so I haven't had much time for subbing. That and I was also busy making closed captions for the collaboration haha.

Hello pals, long time no see. Life has been especially hectic lately (my illicit ménage à trois with my Playstation and 3DS took my sense of productivity straight from under me). But here I am! Today I've translated a song by producer July, known as Feelings, Bodies and Words. It's super cute (albeit a little wink wink), so viewer discretion is advised if you're a lil bab. As well as the lovely Miku tuning, the video and illustrations by miwasiba and Sakuragi Ren are really nicely produced, it's a pleasure to watch.
July has also uploaded the original video to their YouTube channel so please be sure to head on over there, chuck it a like and leave a comment if you enjoyed the song! I'm sure they'd love your support.

Hi there, long time no see. Here's a translation for a cool Ramune (also known as Murabito-P) song featuring artwork from Awoko, who created the video for DECO*27's Delusion Tax, which is one of my favourites. I hope you enjoy.
This song is also featured in a compilation album featuring Ramune and other producers including Sohta and Task, Kanjou Railway. I'll leave a link down below if you were interested in checking it out.
Weirdly enough, some of the subtitles seem to have shifted slightly during encoding, even though I centered them. Oh well, such is life.

Translator's Notes: -the tags and ranks mentioned in the first few lines also reference the tags and ranking on niconico. -the line about the lotus flower blooming refers to determination and resilience etc, as lotus flowers bloom from the bottom of the lake, through the mud and then to the surface. a try hard enough and you'll succeed kind of deal. -the bit about wasting, mystifying and etc are all obscure japanese idioms so. -also i forgot in the youtaite version we changed game style to rap style to make it easier to sing but didn't realize it had changed in my translation file so i ended up putting it in by accident. fixed it with annotations. sorry about it. -i think that's all the bits that need extra clarification, but i'll come back and add more if i remember some!

Yo! Back with Giga and Suzumu's recent Rin song, Undead Enemy.
Translator's Notes: -the line in the first chorus about the good fortune to those who smile is an abbreviation of the Japanese expression 笑う門には福来る which means "good fortune and happiness will come to the home of those who smile" -the line about the heart mechanized by chance, written as 機会仕掛け, is a play on words with the phrase 機械仕掛け meaning mechanical. They are both read as 'kikai jikake' but in the former's case, the 'kikai' means 'chance' rather than 'machine'. -those are the two big ones I can remember, but if I recall any more I'll come back and write them down.

Yo! Back with Scop's Pinky Promise. I've been addicted since I played it in Project Diva f 2nd.
Credits:
Song: Scop Illustrations: Matsutori
Translator's Notes: -the title of the song, 指切り (yubikiri) is an expression used to mean locking little fingers and making a promise - a pinky promise. however, it literally means 'finger cutting'. so go in to the song with the mindset that the promises mentioned also mean cutting fingers and everything will start to make more sense. -(e.g. the line about showing the proof of her love and then the last line - yubikitta - which treats the phrase as a verb - so it can also be interpreted as 'I cut off my finger'.)

People send in their requests to be played, and you can hear some really neat songs you might have missed. I'll link it below, it's really cool.
Translator's Notes: -one thing I hate about English is the ambiguity between playing as in 'enjoying oneself' and playing as in 'playing an instrument'. Japanese has two separate verbs for these terms, the latter being the one used - 奏でる. so yeah just thought I'd clear that up.

Music and Lyrics - Chouchou-P Illustration - 24
Translator's Notes: -the title 'kokoronashi', written in these kanji 心做し, is an expression meaning 'somehow' or 'somewhat'. but it's interesting to note that when written like 心なし, it means 'a lack of judgement' and when like 心無し, it means 'without a heart'. so there's a pretty cool play on words there. -the line "僕の心臓は一つだけ" is kinda odd. literally "my heart is only one". i think it may be contextual - something to do with the human having the one heart out of the two.

Yo! Back with Giga-P's amazing new song, Okochama Sensou! This song took me about a week and a half to translate and subtitle. Those who follow me on Twitter (link below) would know this very well, as I made several progress reports/crying tirades as I progressed through my work. This was mostly because of the crazy effects in the video. To give you some scope of why it took so long, I find that in using Aegisub, most songs end up with 30-60 lines of separate subtitles. And depending on whether it's simply subtitles along the bottom of the screen, or something a bit more decorative, the number can change as well. Songs like this generally only take a few hours to subtitle. And due to the extravagant effects included in this video, I ended up writing over 300 lines of subtitles, which is why it took me so long. This can mostly be attributed to the colour changes between characters, and is the reason I now get the shakes when I see an html colour code. Anyways, I just thought I should clarify why it took me so long. So there we go! Now on to the translation notes, because there are a few I feel are necessary to share.
Translator's Notes: -the title is made up of two words, 'okochama' meaning 'childish person' and 'sensou' meaning 'war'. 'okochama' comes is made up of the prefix 'o' which honours the following word, 'ko' meaning child, and 'chama' a familiarized version of the polite honorific 'sama'. however, in this case, 'sama' is turned to 'chama', similarly to 'san' being turned to 'chan' as a means of familiarization, and makes it kind of patronizing, hence it meaning 'childish person' regardless of the honorifics. with that out of the way, I decided to omit the 'person' part out of the title because it sounds too clumsy and unnatural, and also because a childish war implies it includes childish people. -the many 'hiya!' and 'yah!' sounds before the last chorus are approximations of battle noises. -'ry' at the beginning is an abbreviation of the japanese word 'ryaku' meaning omitted, which you use to signify some information after you use the 'ry' is omitted. -I think that's it, I'll add more if I think of any.

Credits:
Music/Lyrics: Yuzuhiko Video: Hinanosuke Character Design: Ichinose Yukino Piano: Uto Keiki Bass: Miyashita Dai
Translator's Notes: -this song is a play on words with kaika (開化 - culture/civilization) and kaika (開花 - blooming) as 文明開化 is the Westernization movement during the Meiji era - hence it being set during that time. -that's about it???
Hope y'all enjoy!Gumi, Kagamine Rin - Computer Insane Love Girl (電脳狂愛ガール)OccasionalSubs2013-10-27 | Disclaimer: I own nothing of this video other than the translation. All credits go to their original creators.
Yo! A new addition to the Jigokugata Ningen Doubutsuen series created by Rerulili! This addition is Dennou Kyouai Girl, by Kairiki Bear using Gumi and Rin Now to the notes!
Translator's Notes: -the title can be translated a few ways. 電脳 (dennou) literally means electric brain, and (I'm pretty sure) comes from the Chinese word for 'computer'. It was also popularized as meaning 'cyberbrain' from the manga series Ghost in the Shell, which is what I originally translated it as in the tumblr post I made about the series. So realistically, I'm not sure which the title is referencing, as the song is about love via computers I'm leaning one way, but as an otaku-esque vocaloid song, I can't help but feel it could be paying homage to a series I'm just not familiar with. As such, I've decided to take the safe route and go with the translation that seems to match the themes in the song better - 'computer'. -the 'yotte' in the second and last choruses could also mean 'as a result of' rather than the te form of 'you - to get drunk' but the lack of kanji made it hard to tell. Same thing with the 'katte' after 'waikyoku'. -tl;dr lyrics in the songs for these series are sf confusing.

Yo! Back with a recent Arie-P song that I tried to translate when it came out, but it confused me too much. So I started again yesterday and I think I have a much better result. Credits: Lyrics/Composition: Arie-P Six String: Gibson Four String: mao Mixing: yasu Illust: Achiki Video: Mizumare
Translator's Notes: -the title 'bangasa' means 'a coarse oil-paper umbrella' which sounds a bit too frumpy in English, so I went with 'Paper Parasol', as it's pretty much the same thing. -some of the grammar and vocab are pretty odd actually, should be fine though.

"(Hopscotch): In situations of moving from a certain site to a certain destination by walking (for example: on the way to school), there are many things practiced as a way to kill time. Pick up a suitable stone, face it in the direction of movement and kick. When the kicked stone stops, face it in the direction of movement again, and kick. While repeating this, head towards the destination. Many rocks falling on the road are not spherical, and when kicked, predicting the direction in which they will fly is difficult. Back today to bring a translation for TOTAL OBJECTION's sequel to Higurashi Moratorium (I've subbed this as well, I recommend watching).
I've seen the title translated as 'Screaming Paranoia' as well. That's kinda incorrect: zekkyou written as 絶叫 means 'screaming', but the title uses 絶境 which is pronounced the same, but means 'far away from human habitation' or just 'remote'. So there you go.

Music/Lyrics: TOTAL OBJECTION Illustrations: ako Movie: ke-sanβ
Translator's Notes: -As with TO's style of lyric writing, there are many words that are written in kanji but sung as a katakana word. So I tried to incorporate both meanings into the translation of the lines.

Yo! Back today with a translation for Polyphonic Branch's lovely new Miku release, Chameleon Love! Sorry it took me so long ;A; Miwasiba went all out with this PV didn't they? So it took me a while to typeset and everything hehe. But isn't this song lovely? I love how colourful it is and Miku sounds amazing~
Translator's Notes: -I tried to appropriate the kana chart readings as best as possible by equating them with the English alphabet to keep pun - e.g "Ta Chi Tsu Te Tobikonde - A B C D E Fly" and "Ta Chi Tsu Te Tomerarenai - D E F G H I can't stop." -The lines that I haven't subbed after the second chorus are, "rabu rabu nyari nyari ego ban ban" and "doki doki menyo menyo maji run run" which both contain words that I do not understand - "nyari" and "menyo" so I've decided to keep looking for what they could mean and adding them in with annotations later rather than possibly getting it wrong now. They're not very important lines anyway and don't carry any real meaning though. -Before the first chorus. "I, I, I want to see you" could also be "Love, love, I want to encounter it." -the line "boku wa nan no reon" at around 1:56 just has the world "leon" which is pretty vague, so I took it as meaning a shortened version of "chameleon" due to the songs title and theme. -many 'ta's appear after the chorus, and they really don't carry any direct meaning, they're just used when conjugating informal past tense and repeated because Polyphonic Branch felt like it. So I've just used the last word in their preceding sentence to sub with. -I think that's all I wanted to say but if you need to ask my justification on something, please leave a comment below!

Hooray for motivational Luka!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~READ THIS~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is a fan PV for KEI's song Track featuring Megurine Luka. This is in no way KEI's official PV for the song. As such, the references in this song exist purely as references and nothing more. This song is not traditionally related to No Logic, Toeto or Double Lariat. Track is by KEI, No Logic is by OneRoom, Toeto is by Travolta-P and Double Lariat is by Agoaniki-P - all different producers. The PV merely references them, probably just for fanservice. I just wanted to say that so you could keep it in mind before you create any intricate fan theories connecting the characters or anything, idk. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~DONE~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Stealthy reupload to fix a line! (That's what I get for translating straight from the video instead of from the text).
Yo! Back today with an upload from another very unknown producer, Yamasan~ I really love the story and video to this is really reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally well done, so I hope you think so as well~ I love the frailty of Miku's voice here, it really suits the story and lyrics. So yes, super cute stuff right here.
Translator's Notes: -'strange beast' is the translation for 'kaijuu' which are like super large monsters that destroy a whole bunch of stuff for fun - see Godzilla and the things from Pacific Rim. -a line in the second chorus uses the word 'uratoramen' which I took to mean 'ultra man', a superhero figure, rather than the ramen brand of the same name. -I think that's it.
Yo! Today I thought I'd translate a song I've been listening to for months, by one of my favourite fairly unknown producers, shr! This is D-Mech, just one of their many amazing Kagamine Rin songs, so I hope you enjoy it!
I really love shr's music and tuning, so I want to try and help raise their popularity as best as I can~ Also I like the illustration as well akdlalsdjads.
I literally like all of shr's songs but my favourites are probably this, Ainaki, Record Redo and Theatre. I plan on translating some more of them too!
Translator's Notes: -just a small thing I felt I should clarify: in the last chorus, the line about the faint light doesn't specify a verb and is left kind of vague (probably for the sake of the melody). This doesn't translate well into English, because while English has the word order of Subject - Verb - Object, Japanese has Subject - Object - Verb.
For instance: English - (subject) I (verb) ate (object) an apple. Japanese - (subject) watashi wa (object) ringo wo (verb) tabemashita. (Japanese also includes case markers that English has long since abandoned but don't get me started on those! #partyhard)
So to have it make sense in English I had to assume the implied verb was the same verb as the similar line in the first chorus.
Yo! Back again to bring a translation for Owata-P's self arrange of Paradichlorobenzene featuring VY1! VY1 is one of my favourite vocaloids, so when I remembered that this arrange was a thing, I decided to translate it as a part of my Seven Day Challenge Thingamajig in which I upload a video a day (already fell behind but have now caught up) for seven days. This is day four. If you have any requests as for what I should do for the next three days, please send me an ask on tumblr, yo!
No but I really love Owata-P, Agatha and VY1, so I hope you enjoy this as much as I did. Aren't Agatha's illustrations just lovely? asdfghjkl ;A;
If you haven't checked out the Benzene series yet, be sure to check out the original version of this one featuring Kagamine Len, Antichlorobenzene and Toluene!
Typesetting error at 1:45. Leaving it because this video took like an hour to to encode and another three hours to upload. The line is "depart from this place?"
Yo! Back today with subs for Shikemoku's Box Room~ So I've gotten like three requests for this one so I thought I should get around to subbing it. Ritsu sounds as lovely as usual! And the illustration is also really nice~
Translator's Notes: -parquetry is a kind of wooden mosaic floorboards. -hanamichi (the 'platform' in the first line) is a special part of a kabuki stage - a long ramp/platform that extends from the stage down the middle of the audience. Naturally this doesn't have an exact English translation, so I went with an approximation that could easily be understood. -camellia flowers are the red flowers that appear in the video a bunch of times if you were wondering. -'beni' in the line about the cheek means 'red/crimson' but also means 'lipstick' but historically I doubt there was much readily available in the setting of the video, so I thought 'rouge' would be better as a more commonly used product at the time.
Hold up thank you all so much for the 2000+ subs! I'm glad I'm contributing to this fandom and I'm glad you enjoy my translations ;w;
Yo! Back today with a translation for Retasu-P's self cover of My Everything, All of it to You! I think I actually like version better than the original. Wil has a nice, whispery voice~ Plus I really like the illustration here, the sunflowers are so pretty~ ;;w;;
Clarification that I should have pointed out earlier: in this context 'self covered' means that Retasu-P covered the song himself using a Vocaloid (Wil from Zola Project) not his own voice. I probably should have mentioned that originally so sorry for the confusion!
Hello folks I am back from exams and am finally on holidays! So yes probably slightly more frequent uploads for the next few weeks perhaps~ Aaaaaaaah, I love the beat to this song, super catchy~ Pinocchio-P has such an interesting and eccentric style which is always so fun to listen to, I love it~ Also shout out to Edielec for the amazingly super cool high quality PV! An occasional update of annoyance: Ok calm down satans, I think we've all gotten so accustomed to original OP that we're getting a bit too critical. It's pretty unlikely that one could get a vocaloid to sing with the power, tone and pitch of Linked Horizon. This is just a cover, and I think that especially as vocaloid fans, we can understand that covers verrrrrrrrrrrrrrry rarely can compare to the original - but are still a nice change of pace and can be fun to listen to. Butthurting and leaving a bunch of dislikes won't change the song if you don't like it, it just makes me less inclined to sub things. u feel me?
So many of my babies up in here! 150-P is the bomb ;;w;;
Shingeki no Kyoujin had been all up in my dash for a while now, but a friend mentioned this song was her Animal Crossing town tune so I finally started watching it and ohmygodwowcolourmeinlove. This song is so damn catchy and when I saw this cover on the Rankings I knew I had to have a go at it ;A;
It's my 50th video! So I thought I'd translate a super special song for the occasion. If this isn't the cutest thing y'all have ever seen then excuse you.
No but I really love this song a lot ever since it came on the rankings a few months ago. I actually tried to translate it back then but it uses some really old style Japanese grammar and vocab that I had some trouble with. But I've worked on it since then and I'm pretty happy with the end result. Then again I could be completely wrong who knows.
Hello homedogs I have returned from the land of procrastination with subs. I thought I would translate something before I go get Animal Crossing New Leaf and bid farewell to any semblance of productivity in my life. So here we are!
This is Ramune (Murabito-P)'s super cool new release, Human Equation! You may remember this producer from their previous works such as Whale Street, Crybaby Robot and Night Walker~ This song is really interesting and fits well with Miwasiba's amazing MV skills~
Also it's the first time I've subbed a Miki song! I haven't really listened to her outside of Circus-P's covers, but she sounds pretty cool here, so~
Sorry I couldn't find a higher quality video! It seems pretty watchable for me though~ The kind of obscured line in the first chorus is 'with a charming voice.'
HEY LOOK OVER HERE I'M NOT DEAD. ALSO I BRING YOU SUBS FOR AN IAxLUKA DUET DON'T BE MAD.
No but seriously hello y'all and I'm sorry for the extended leave of absence, school and work have been insanely time-consuming recently and I haven't had time to have any fun. I actually started this one a couple of weeks ago but I got distracted with super important, life-threatening business to take care of (reading Destiel fanfiction /shot).
Anyways this song is super cute, so I hope you enjoy it! It's from a fairly new producer yksb, and has both of my babies singing! Granted I have almost a dozen babies but you get the point.
Hey y'all! Sorry about the week of absence, but I'm back today to bring a translation for Rerulili's collab, Sing a Song! It's like Mr. Music and etc, and it's pretty darn catchy and adorable. Ahhh I just love this. A great job done by all involved, thank you very much, Rerulili!
The music is super charming and the artwork is lovely, everybody looks so cute in this watercolour-ish style! (They're wearing such cute clothes omfg I love it so much I want t wear them all) So I hope y'all enjoy~
(this actually would have been up last night but I fell asleep while encoding /shot)
Translators' Notes: -Lily's line about blooming flowers is also saying that means 'to be successful', but because of the other line about sowing seeds, I thought it sounded better left as is.
Ok reupload because I made an error in the order of a couple of words in the chorus, and it would have annoyed me knowing it was there. So yeah, reupload before many people viewed it.
I saw this song on the rankings last year, but only just recently got around to giving it a proper listen to, and boy oh boy, jfc. This is one of the best Vocaloid songs I've ever heard. I love everything about it, the lyrics, instrumentals, the video and Miku's voice are all spectacular. Mikito-P is a musical god ;A;
I decided to translate this because I saw that a Rib's version had an eng sub but Miku's didn't, and I really want Vocaloid fans to be able to enjoy this song as much as I do. It's just so pretty, CHRIS's art is so perfectly suited for such a sweet, sad song~ I've actually got this art set as my wallpaper so whenever I turn on my laptop I can't handle it *shot*
I love how soft and delicate Miku sounds here though, it's so pretty ;A; Also the synth at the start and the end, need to make that into a ringtone~~~
---Speculations that I've seen around but have no way of substantiating please don't be cry if they're wrong--- Apparently this song is related to the Rino Sashihara scandal, in which she was exiled from AKB48 after materials were leaked depicting a secret boyfriend (the group forbids relationships). So this can be interpreted as the secret boyfriend's side of the story.
Thank you so much SunnySubs for helping out with the translation!!! It's very much appreciated, you're a gentlewoman and a scholar ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ Make sure to check out her amazing sub of Rib's amazing version! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzJNI-DxzFo
Translator's Notes: -Kept the title as Sarishinohara because it sounds really pretty and also other reasons I'll explain when it's not 2:30am and I'm not falling asleep on the keyboard hehehe -You'll notice that the boy's second button on his jacket is missing - giving this button to somebody shows your deep feelings and affection for them, as it is the button closest to the heart. -Sunflowers in 'hanakotoba' (language of flowers) represent passion, love, devotion and radiance. -nada as far as I can remember.
Hope y'all enjoy!Kasane Teto - Meishou Romance (明正ロマン)OccasionalSubs2013-04-28 | Disclaimer: I own nothing of this video other than the translation. All credits go to their original creators.
Hey y'all! My "school-away-from-school holiday break" has come to an end, still with not enough study done by yours truly. Regardless, I wanted to bring out one last translation for these holidays and I chose this lovely song based around Japan's modernization during the Meiji Restoration, Meishou Romance.
Ok I've been listening to this like non-stop since it was released, if I didn't suck so much I'd do an utattemita //SHOT
This song is by Asa-P, a producer famous for their popular song, Yoshiwara Lament~ I don't really listen to Teto songs, but when I heard this one I was pleasantly surprised, Cillia's tuning is as amazing as ever! Also how could I resist a PV from Tama (I couldn't ohlawd.)
Anyways let's get to the notes:
The title is made up of the characters 明正 (meishou) and ロマン (roman). 'Meishou', when written with these characters, is the name of Japan's empress from 1624 - 1696, Empress Meishou. I don't understand why these characters were used, but I'll list some of my speculations later on. Interestingly, 'meisho' means the first year of the Meiji period (themoreyouknow). 'Roman' is more simple, as it's just 'romance' or 'Roman' in romaji so I picked the more applicable one as the song mentions love. I don't really get how these words fit together, but as this song is to do with the Meiji period and the Western influences on Japan, I thought that 'meishou' kind of symbolizes pre-Meiji Japan and its traditional values and ideals (as it is the name of an empress who served prior to the Meiji era), and romance represents a fondness for that. This is just my tired ramblings trying to make sense of things though, I can't vouch for any of this.
Also I think all the mentions of dawn and new days and futures etc may be referencing that the Meiji restoration was kind of like a new beginning for pre-Meiji Japan, kind of like dawn is for a day~
This song actually had quite a few bits of grammar that confused me, but I did my best to work through it and come up with a translation. If I'm just too incorrect I'll take down the video and cry myself to sleep, sobs this was hard.
Translator's Notes: -in the line 'tokyo no asa wa nobori hajimeru', 'nobori' means 'to rise', but in English, mornings don't really rise per se, so I thought 'to dawn' was more appropriate with the same general meaning. -I tried to include as many references to the Westernization as possible but if I've missed any, shout out and I'll add them~
Author's Comment: The bird, it will fly again today. The bird, what colour eyes is it staring with? The bird, what is it thinking as it stares? The world where people and gods were seen by the bird of flames, what kind of world is that?
~~~I've linked iroha(sasaki)'s Youtube upload in the links section, and if you like this song, it would be amazing if you could head over to the video and subscribe, give it a like and leave some comments for the amazing creators to see directly!~~~
Okay this song was really hard and it took me forever soz. Um where to start.
The title was really confusing and let me explain why. At first I had no idea what the title was, but then inside sources told me that it closely resembles a Chinese chengyu (4-character idiom) or a Japanese yojijukugo. Research on both these structures informed me that the meaning of the idiom can often widely vary from the readings/meanings of the characters. So I tried to see if this was an existing idiom with a pre-established meaning but I couldn't find anything. So I thought the best option would be to simply translate the title into English keeping in mind both the kanji and reading. The title is read as 'midori youyou'. 三 (three), 鳥 (bird[s]), 夭夭 (archaic term that it kind of means somebody who is young, beautiful, calm and carefree, from what I read. It's fascinating how that all fits into two characters). 'Midori' while in this case meaning 'three birds', is the word for 'green', so complying with the song's emphasis on colours, I thought that it'd be best to also include that meaning into the title as well. So there you see how I got 'The Three Birds' Beautiful Youth' from 三鳥夭夭. Update: A viewer has nicely informed me that 三鳥 can also be read as 'sanchou' meaning cuckoo bird. It was pretty silly of me to miss this, but in the description for iroha(sasaki)'s Niconico upload, they state that it is read as 'midori' so it pretty much slipped my mind to investigate other readings/options. I changed the title accordingly because I feel it sounds better, so sorry for confusing y'all! I purposely didn't sub the title into the video though, because I want to keep it open for people with more experience with chengyu (I have no Chinese knowledge beyond nihao and zai jian) to provide a more accurate translation for the characters. So yeah, comment if you're in the mood to help!
Because I'm still fairly new to some archaic Japanese terms, I'm unsure about this translation. While I think I did okay, some things may have just completely gone over my head. I'll fix any that are came across using annotations, and if it's too incorrect I'll just take the video down and sob all over everything.
Now we have that cleared up, hello y'all! Sorry for being away so long, work and school (also apparently I have a social life when was that a thing) have been pretty busy lately and I've been swamped ;A; I'm glad I finally got to do a VY1 song though! Cyber Thunder Cider is one of my favourite songs ever~ I love iroha(sasaki)'s tuning though, with the instrumentals and vibrant art they really made a beautiful song uwu I hope you guys find this as pretty as I do.
As for my recommendations, I think it's obvious what my favourite iroha(sasaki) song is and I'm 99.9% sure you've already listened to/loved it, so.
Translator's Notes: -title mumbojumbo mumbles from me up above -after the first chorus VY1 sings 'aoi' which usually means 'blue', but also has connotations of 'green', and with the colouring of the Japanese text, translating it as 'green' seemed more appropriate. -if I remember anything else I'll post it. -it was mostly just a bunch of archaic terms I'd never encountered before but I think I got them all.
