My offer for a blue phat finally filled in the ge. That likely means someone with one was perm banned because there's no reason for anyone to sell one on the ge. I had the offer in for 3+ years.
Elite mimics are pretty amazing if you want slayer and combat xp. For every hour you spend, you can expect to make over 1m cash and get scrimshaws worth about 2 hours of slayer and combat xp.
Basically you just avoid its attacks while spamming threshold abilities with range or mage. Use void or other dps gear and t90 weapons. I recommend an offensive scrimshaw but it's not absolutely required. Definitely use an aura like sharpshooter/runic accuracy, majharrat, or of the mage/range equivalents of berserker.
I've been doing the elite version, but it's probably more efficient to do the hard one since it's a lot easier and has similar drops. You also won't need to use scrimshaws and all of the top tier stuff.
Sorry for lack of editing/polish. I don't have any of my old video making software set up anymore. I don't even have a good headset... my best mic was on my webcam so I ended up wearing it around my neck.
If you're like me and can't be bothered to watch such a long video, here's the text version:

I'll try to answer any other questions in the comments or in an upcoming livestream.
The majority of the listed value comes from the 2350 trickster helms which are valued at 100m each.
For anyone who plays Fallout, I made this a while ago but since most people just subscribed for RS, I just left it unlisted:

In order to find the hidden ga'al you will need:
- 15k TokKul
- Ring of Visibility
- Ring of Stone
- 409 Obsidian Shards (this number can change)
- 1+ piece of Obsidian Equipment (player-made) [Gloves are the least costly]
- Uncharged TokKul-Zo
Inside the Fight Cauldron room, equip a pair of Obsidian Gloves.
Donate TokKul to the coffer.
Teleport to a location of your choice(outside of the volcano).
Unequip the gloves - you can not be wearing any obsidian equipment.
Equip a TokKul-Zo (It must be uncharged - do this by destroying it, then reclaiming from the Tzhaar-Mej in the Main Plaza).
Ensure that you have 409 Obsidian Shards in your inventory. (The exact amount depends on the day - the easiest way to check is to open your Captain's Log, and divide the RuneDate by 10, and round down.)
Use a Ring of Visibility on a Ring of Stone (must be that order)

Power gear for offense but lower defence, hybrid for equal stats for all combat styles, and tank gear for the most defence but no offence. I think the idea behind making different types of gear being good in different situations is good compared to the highest level gear being the best in all situations, but there seem to be some issues with certain types of gear at the moment.
Check out Mod Avatar's dev blog about it here:

God Wars was also given instanced bosses and an option to fight harder versions of each boss.
The major rewards updates included a major buff to cw armor, the division of tickets into silver and gold, more people required to get rewards, and the reduction of the trimmed comp req from 5k games to 4150 gold tickets.
Overall I think the intention to get more people to play cw competitively is good, but there are some major flaws with the implementation, especially for smaller games.
For example, 5 people are required on each team in order for gold tickets to be awarded. What if one team is losing and they leave in order to prevent the other team from getting their reward.
Gameplay changes:
-Altars in each spawn room, so there's an easy way to replenish your prayer points.
-Helms can now be taken into the arena.
-Wait times have been reduced and the number of people required to start a game is now 2 per team.
-Damaged or unbuilt ballistas no longer count as obstacles.
-Team colours have been added to barricades.
-Catapult and ballista damage has been adjusted.
-Ice spells now have a staggered bind time, the binding shot ability has had its bind time reduced and, while in the arena, the smash ability now has a 60% chance to hit.
-Explosive potions can now be added to the Action Bar.
-The tinderbox can now be picked up by multiple players.
-Waiting rooms now heal you in the same way as standing in a bank does.
-The Castle Wars manual has been updated.
-Bandages now give more health.
The brutal club reskin is also currently free on the Solomon store if you're a member.
The masks give a bunch of bonuses for a limited number of kills, and then they can be transformed into a helm with less effects that also has an emote.
The skypouncer set is a cosmetic set released along with the red prepaid game cards bought before April 30th.

Also look into doing The Eyes of Glouphrie for the 6k rc exp reward if you have the requirements.
Abyss RCing tips:
Upon entering the abyss, head around the circle to get close to the northwest(nature portal)
There's always a thief entrance next to an agility gap. Thief is much faster.
Use boots of lightness, and if you have the hunter requirements, also a spottier/spotted cape
If you can't use dragonhide, mithril or initiate is recommended for the lower weight
Energy pots easily make up for their cost so definitely use them
You should be able to do runs in 1:15 - 1:30 which comes out to ~40 runs = 1.6k runes per hour
What I bought stuff for:
Veracs: helm 600k, skirt 500k, flail 275k, top 475k = 1850k
Guthan: skirt 700k, spear 1440k, plate 725k, helm 760k = 3625k
Karils top: 425k
Ahrims: skirt 650k, top 650k = 1300k
Dharoks: axe 620k, plate/legs/helm 2450k = 3070k
I also bought a zerker ring for 1.6m about an hour after I recorded the video.
I'm still looking to get a fury and more long term a mage's book, master wand, whip, and dfs.

The instructions given by Jagex in the official rs wiki can be seen here: http://i.imgur.com/kZVt62p.png
but I'd recommend just following along in the video as I try to make it as clear as possible.
1. Go to the folder C:\Users\{user}\jagexcache\jagexlauncher\ or C:\Documents and Settings\{user}\jagexcache\jagexlauncher\
Where user is your username.
2. Copy the folder called runescape and rename it to oldschool
3. Open the oldschool folder and rename the .prm file to oldschool
4. Open the oldschool.prm file with a plaintext editor like notepad or textpad
5. Replace the line:
-Dcom.jagex.config=http://www.runescape.com/k=3/l=$(Language:0)/jav_config.ws
with:
-Dcom.jagex.config=http://oldschool.runescape.com/jav_config.ws
and then save and close the file
^Make sure you copy the entire thing, including bit that youtube cuts off.
6. Right click on the shortcut you use to open the regular runescape client and open its properties.
There should be an option to open file location so click that.
7. The file shown now is the actual executable program that is run to use the client.
Copy the file and rename the copy to something like JagexOldschoolLauncher.exe
8. Right click on it and make a shortcut to it(or pin it to the taskbar or start menu).
9. Right click on the shortcut you just made and open the properties.
10. In the area called "Target:" edit it so after it says the file name there's a space and then the word oldschool
11. Apply changes and close the properties windows.
12. Run the shortcut to play 2007scape on the client :)
Also unnecessary, but if you want the actual icon for the client from 2008 you can dl it here:
http://www.2shared.com/file/bY04u3V0/oldschool.html
To use it you just open the properties of your client shortcut and click change icon and then select browse, navigate to the .ico, and select it.

6. Talk to Sedridor again
I still need to get a bunch of scrolls to unlock items, and upgrade my crew and the buildings in my port, but the worst of it is over finally.
Personally I think it's a bit silly to devalue a requirement that so many people have spent so much time on after having it out for about 2 years, but Jagex.
Some of my thoughts on moneymaking below:
Since everyone is going to start out on a level 3 account with no items, 2007scape is going to be very interesting in terms of moneymaking strategies.
Here are some skills which were highly valued in the past:
85 Slayer - Abyssal Demons for whips.
91 RC for double natures through the abyss = ~4k natures per hour
99 Smithing - rune gear(particularly 2h swords and other weapons for people with under 60 attack)
85 Mining - Runite Ore
76 Fishing - Sharks (no soul split to heal easily)
90+ Cooking - Sharks (not burning them is an issue and will probably make cooking profitable like it used to be)
Farming - Herbs
66 Herblore - Super Sets
72 Herblore - Ranging Potions
75+ WC - Magic Logs to fletch/alch
70/85 Fletching - Yew/Magic Longbows are profitable to fletch and good to alch
Combat - Dragon Bones, Hides, Metal Dragons, Bossing(kq,kbd), Barrows
Since there won't be any cash ingame to start, I expect prices for everything will be very low but it will also take a while to make money.
I expect slaying while using seed drops for farming will be a very commonly used strategy for long term money gain since abyssal whips will be the best weapon ingame and a lot of people will be playing for the combat.
Getting 91 rc will likely be the best overall moneymaker, but it is quite slow to level up without runners. With runners it's up to around 50k xp/h with law runes.
I'm interested to see if Runecrafting Companies start up again. In the past runners would bring unnoted essence which they trade for runes + noted ess. Mostly at the law and nature altars. I remember crafting laws and getting about 35-40k xp/h. It cost around 40m to get 91 which was quite a lot of money at the time.

The hearts can be spent on two different emotes, a bow, a wand and offhand magic item, two xp boosting necklaces, and chocolates which boost your levels temporarily.

The contracts allow you to kill monsters in the tower and get 20% of the slayer xp that you'd get for killing them on task. You also get bonus combat xp or cash after completing a contract.
Also, evidently if you use the mime mask for your forum avatar it looks a bit larger than it ought to..
Basics:
You will be on a team and clearing a dungeon as fast as possible. Everyone on your team will get rewards when it's completed based on how many totems they collected. You can play cards that you've found during the dungeon to change who gets which reward. Sinkholes can be done two times a day. It opens every 30 minutes and can be done by talking to Talsar, west of the Daemonheim teleport.
Tips:
-Use range or mage so you can use the multi target attacks
-The first time you go in you'll need to equip a set from one of the tables
-Remember to set your spell on asap when the dung begins
-Run through rooms, pick up the exploratory totems, and use your multi attack to kill any low level monsters
-Keep an eye out for glowing resources, these give double items
-Keep an eye out for treasure chutes. Stay near them, especially when resources are almost capped
-There is no bonus for depositing a lot at once so deposit whenever you're near one
-You can't use multiples of the same cards and you can't have more than 5 in your invy, so destroy then multiples and ones you don't want.
-When using cards, try to examine them before your turn and have an idea of what you want to do.
-Meercats are a great card and will often be better than trying to steal a large/huge lamp.
-At 120 dg you'll get around 100k xp from a huge lamp and 70k from a medium so the best possible xp is 170k per round
