RISKY! Catching a Rattlesnake by its Tail
updated
Billy Collett, the Operations Manager at the Australian Reptile Park, handles these magnificent reptiles almost every day in order to help produce life-saving antivenom. But just because he handles them every day doesn't mean there aren't close calls -- especially when it comes to the Eastern Brown!
We want to thank the Australian Reptile Park and the fearless Billy Collett for all the work they do in helping to create the life-saving anti-venom! Visit their website for more information and to plan a visit to the reptile park: https://reptilepark.com.au

Afraid of snakes? Maybe not. But what about deadly snakes? Or deadly snakes in your bathroom? That's right, it's a good ol' fashioned snake home invasion! On this episode, Coyote and the team rescue a terrified family from the Eastern Brown Snake that snuck into their bathroom!

Since the Bullet Ant sting no other insect has been requested more for a sting test than Australia’s Bulldog Ant, aka jumping jack ant. Armed with massive jaws and a stinger filled with formic acid, these ants attack in swarms and are avoided at all costs by locals throughout Australia. Tales of their stings are legendary and reach far from the golden coasts of OZ.
Will this jumping terror live up to the hype or fall down the ranks of the insect sting pain index?

Yes you read that correct, we're talking about giant marine iguanas that have adapted over millions of years to become on the only lizards on earth to explore the ocean. Recently the largest of these lizards was officially designated as the “Godzilla Iguana” with a scientific name of Amblyrhynchus cristatus godzilla - which we filmed off the coast of San Cristobal Island, on land. However, for this video we geared up for the ultimate scuba diving expedition off Fernandina Island to film deep diving marine iguanas underwater!

Back in 2017 the Brave Wilderness crew grabbed their popcorn, sat back, and watch the show. Now, it's time to return to the return to bug theatre!
What’s a bug theatre you might ask? A bug theatre is a common name for an insect “light trap”, where a screen is illuminated at night to attract all sorts of creepy crawlies and bizarre insect species. It is a common practice used by field entomologists around the world!

On this adventure Mark is heading back to Florida to attempt to find a legendary spring that is said to be one of the last strongholds of the Florida manatee. Every winter hundreds of manatees make their way to Crystal River to escape the cold but with their numbers in decline will the team be able to swim in this one of kind manatee paradise? Or, has the chance to swim with over 100 manatees become a thing of the past?
Get ready, this adventure is taking us underwater and into the realm of the most beloved creature in the state of Florida. It’s manatee time!
Swimming with manatee is fun but they need our help to survive the changes to their environment. Please visit www.savethemanatee.org to learn more about saving this threatened species!

Please do not attempt to recreate what you’ve seen in this video. The locations in this video are open to the public but please respect posted signs, rules and guidance from local wildlife officials when visiting.
For clarity here are some guidelines if you do enter the water with manatee in Crystal River, please refrain from:
Chasing or pursuing a manatee. (Note, when we entered the spring we "followed" general flow of traffic, not specific manatees. There is only one entry to the spring and it's nearly impossible to swim in without seeing manatee coming and going. If a particular manatee moves away from you, just wait for a bit, more will likely show up soon enough)
Disturbing or touching a resting* or feeding manatee
Diving from the surface onto a resting or feeding manatee
Cornering or surrounding a manatee
Riding, holding, grabbing, pinching, poking, prodding, or stabbing a manatee with anything, including your hands and feet. (Rangers recommend only passive touching with one open hand)
Standing on a manatee
Separating a mother and calf or separating a group of manatees
Giving manatee(s) anything to eat or drink
Actively initiating contact with belted/tagged manatee(s)
Interfering with rescue and research activities

We found a Kemp’s Ridley Sea Turtle, the rarest and most endangered on earth, beached and freezing cold in Cape Cod. Without immediate help this turtle has very little chance of survival. Join the rescue effort as we follow its journey to be rehabilitated and hopefully released to swim in the ocean again. Will our sea turtle survive? … watch to find out!
Rare and critically endangered sea turtles are freezing cold and washing up on the shores of New England each fall because of changing weather patterns. Luckily, we have joined forces with the conversation efforts to save these “cold-stunned” turtles which is led by the New England Aquarium and Mass Audubon. Each year hundreds of volunteers comb the sandy beaches of Massachusetts in search of these distressed turtles so they can be rehabilitated and released back into the wild.
Big thanks to the staff and volunteers at the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary and the clinical team and volunteers at the New England Aquarium’s Sea Turtle Hospital. Without their tireless efforts thousands of critically endangered sea turtles would certainly not survive these increasing weather events. Please consider joining us in helping them!
To donate please visit https://neaq.org/brave
You can also help by sharing this video or signing up to volunteer yourself. The world needs sea turtles and the sea turtles need our help more than ever!
Special thank you to the pilots and volunteers of Turtles Fly Too. Without these transports the Sea Turtle Hospital would be over capacity and many hundreds more sea turtles would be at risk.
Last, but certainly not least, we would like to thank the participants of this video. Pam, Janette, Adam, Sasha, Chuck and Matt - thank you all so so much and we look forward to helping out again next season!

For years the Brave Wilderness audience has been asking – “Coyote will you ever get punched by a Mantis Shrimp?”
Well, the moment has finally arrived and in this episode, we will try to answer this burning question. But before we get into this entertaining experiment, first… Coyote will put himself into the position of a prey item by comparing the impact force of a hockey puck slap shot to the supposed impact of a mantis shrimp punch.
Things are about to get wild so check out this episode out to see what happens!

Officially the craziest thing Coyote Peterson’s ever done: stick his arm into a box of 200 angry Yellowjackets.
“Hey Coyote, will they still be angry at you if you stick your arm in the box after 15 minutes?”
Yeah Coyote. Yeah they will.
If you’ve ever wondered what would happen if you stuck your arm in a Yellowjacket nest,... here’s your answer! You’re welcome.
Honestly, how much do you think this man’s insurance plan costs? It’s downright ridiculous.
Anyway… Coyote vs 200 YellowJackets. Guess what happens.
IMPORTANT: Risk of allergic reaction or anaphylaxis is possible after receiving a sting from any stinging insect. Call 911 or other emergency services if you're having a serious reaction to an insect sting. Do not try this at home.

In 2016, Kiwi the 6-year-old long haired dachshund was lost at sea, completely gone without a trace. Her devastated owner believed all hope was lost, until miraculously, weeks later, she was rescued! She'd been stranded on an uninhabited island in the Florida Keys for 30 days, and against all odds she survived.
Which begged the question: if Kiwi could survive 30 Days... can Coyote and Christina survive just 24 Hours?
On this adventure, Coyote and Christina are stranded alone on a deserted island in the Florida Keys for 24 hours and challenged to survive! They'll scavenge a shipwreck, build a fire, forage for resources, hunt for food, and attempt to survive the night.
Big thanks to Kiwi and her family for starring in this episode! You may even meet the famous Kiwi at Southernmost Gift Shop in the Florida Keys. Check out their site here: https://southernmostgiftshop.com/

Meet the world's only venomous worm species. Using their bizarre proboscis, bloodworms hunt by striking and envenomating unsuspecting prey with a paralyzing toxin. And guess what we learned since the last video? You can GRAB that proboscis! You know that that means...
Mark ventures back into the mudflats of the Eastern Seaboard to dig up tons of these massive, creepy, bizarre, venomous worms... and take bite after bite after bite.
Do bloodworms bite?
Oh yeah they do.
Do bloodworm bites hurt?
You bet.
Do bloodworms hunt in packs?
Guess Mark will have to stick his hands into a giant tank full of bloodworms to find out...

In this episode, Coyote is on a solo mission to be eaten alive by invisible monsters: CHIGGERS! These microscopic creatures are the larva stage of harvest mites, and in the larva stage they're so tiny they can't be seen with the human eye! But that doesn't stop them from feasting upon unsuspecting mammals that encounter a swarm.
Coyote will try his hardest to become a bug bite buffet by venturing barefoot into the forest!
Big thank you to Chiggerex for sponsoring this episode! Chiggerex is a unique pain relieving ointment that absorbs quickly into skin without leaving any residue and has a pleasant peppermint scent. Soothing relief for bug bites FAST! For more information on Chiggerex products and where to get them, visit https://chiggerex.com
