Defeating Atheism with ScienceDefeating Atheism with Science
Defeating Atheism with Science
Northwest Creation Network 📤 4 years ago 2014-03-26
Seminar by Spike Psarris
Apologetics Symposium at Cedar Park Church, Bothell WA.
March 20, 2014

Description:
Many atheists claim that science disproves the Bible. Despite these claims, science is actually quite consistent with Scripture.

Christians often feel unequipped to defend their faith in this area -- but this need not be so. Instead, any Christian can defend his or her faith against any scientific claim from an atheist, even without knowing the details of that particular claim. Why? Because science itself disproves atheism.

Atheism, when taken to its logical conclusion, denies the fundamental assumptions and requirements of science. Therefore, if science is valid, then atheism must be false.

In this presentation, engineer and former atheist Spike Psarris will present on "Defeating Atheism with Science," showing why this is true. Join us as we discuss how Christians can defend their faith in all areas of science. After a brief discussion of specific evidence like fossils, radiometric dating, and intelligent design, we'll dig deeper and see how science itself disproves atheism. Understanding a few fundamental ideas about science are all that's necessary for any Christian to be well-equipped in this area.

About the Speaker:
Spike Psarris was previously an engineer in the United States' military space program. He entered that program as an atheist and an evolutionist. He left it as a creationist and a Christian. He now speaks on creation and Christian apologetics, equipping believers to defend their faith and glorify their Creator.

Eight Questions for Evolutionists:
1) Let's start at the beginning: How did the first life arise? If you have no life, then you have no evolution. Following the laws of science and nature,

how did that first life arise?
2) How do you explain the origin of Grand Canyon without a world wide flood?
3) How do you explain the copious numbers of dating methods which point to a young earth, and a young universe?
4) What scientifically factual information can you supply to support your contention that the universe is billions of years old? Don't give me your

assumptions and theories, and don't give me the speed of light problem because it's also a problem for you, and I already answered it with my

response. I want scientifically factual information.
5) How do you explain the origin of information, such as the information contained in the DNA, without violating the laws of thermodynamics?
6) How do you explain the PRESERVATION of the information in our DNA over MILLIONS and MILLIONS of years, seeing as how thermodynamics is

observably and quickly removing bits and pieces of that information in every single generation?
7) How did sex arise? Seeing as how there are miriads of sexual reproduction systems in organisms, pretty much NONE of which are compatible with

one another in reproduction. See CrEvo Rant # 13 Ian's Sex Video for the quick low down on the problems you face in explaining this dilema. I'm not

interested in sexual fantasies of how one system evolved into the other, I'm interested in factual, scientific evidence - observed changes, like any

good scientist would expect of a theory.
8) Do you think your brain was intelligently designed? And if not, then how can you trust your thoughts if they are the result of unintelligent,

undirected forces? Random chemistry?

Ian Juby Jones and the stuff that comes from nowhere -- The slightly less copyright infringing version

This is a re-upload and edited version of my response to Ian Juby's Genesis Week . The only difference being the music at the beginning.

This is a response to Episode 3 of Ian Juby's Genesis Week where he scoffs at the idea of something coming into existence out of nothing by poking fun at Professor Laurence Krauss's book, a universe from nothing.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKk8EjICnN0

Being good at number puzzles and word games and having a Mensa membership card gives him the perfect qualifications for debunking people with doctorates in physics and great luminaries of science such as Einstein and Hawking when it comes to gravitational theory, after all who would know more about how objects behave when in the vicinity of a large dense mass.

So I explain to him in simplistic terms, what Professor Krauss was talking about in his book and how it isn't as fantastical as he makes it out to be and I point out some of the things that would not be possible without the science he is trying to debunk.

And yes I know that I make some sweeping generalisations but remember I am trying to explain this to someone who thinks that gravity is just another theory.
